Yay! They've shrunk the mandatory evacuation zone, and I'm no longer in it. However, the line for the zone is like 3 blocks below me. *EYES* Think I'll go to my place today, but not sure if I'll stay overnight. I think I'd be weirded out about staying there until they've cleared the area near me considering that at one point people 30 mile away from where the Witch Fire started wound up running out of their houses at 4:30 in the morning.

And right now I'm babysitting for my nurse friend who's sleeping after pulling a double shift last night. One beagle puppy and two kids, all of whom are going stir-crazy. (All schools in San Diego County are closed for the rest of the week.) We might need to go to McDonald's. I heard they're discounting food right now for everyone.

AAAH. The beagle just chewed up a cup. *facepalm*

Sorry, not very social right now on LJ. After this is all over, I'll see what you all have been up to. No good, undoubtedly.

ay! They've shrunk the mandatory evacuation zone, and I'm no longer in it. However, the line for the zone is like 3 blocks below me. *EYES*

Well, at least you're going to get a chance to get home and check things out. Like your DW DVDs.

[hugs] Hang in there, hon! You're in my thoughts.

Don't worry about us, we'll still be here when you get back home! :)

Best of luck with the bored kids and the stir crazy beagle! ;)

Oh good! Well, heading towards good, anyway. I don't think I'd stay there tonight, either.

Tried to call you this am to see how you (and your place) were doing, but the voicemail on your cell was full. Which ... would be more fun to mock you about in different circumstances.

Glad you could go home. Just be safe and stuff. play board games with the kids and the doggie he just wants attention.

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2007-10-24 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'd definitely be nervous staying at home overnight in that situation, but it's great you can actually go check on your things. I've been wondering about you all day actually.

BEAGLE! Hee! How old are the kids? I can maybe point you in the direction of some fun easy activities for them. And yes, beagle pups are chewing machines. Mine loved frozen fries.

And I've been good. *shifty eyes* Honestly.

Glad you can at least get back home! Hang in there; I'll keep sending good thoughts your way.

Yay to being able to go home! :D Hope everything goes well when you check it out.

And have fun babysitting the kids and dog! As long as the kids have something to do i.e. coloring, playing a boardgame, which has been mentioned before, they should be ok.

As always stay safe. :)

Yay glad youcan go home - only just caught up with the friends list from before the weekend so missed you having to leave! Oops. Glad you are safe though :)

Hoping for your safety and now that you have a bit of breathing room and time to prepare just in case, get those DW DVD's packed!

I'm glad to know that you and your Dr. Who DVDs are all right!

After this is all over, I'll see what you all have been up to. No good, undoubtedly.

Well, you do have some shady characters on your flist, but me? I never misbehave! ;) Wanna buy a bridge, cheap?

[identity profile] poohmusings.livejournal.com 2007-10-25 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YAY! (About possibly going home, not the beagle chewing up a cup.)

[identity profile] brilliantomega.livejournal.com 2007-10-26 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Has you smoke cleared up any? Here in West San Fernando Valley (where I work) its really icky even with the Malibu fires under control. Just grey smoke and a 10 mile tops visablity.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-10-26 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it really hasn't cleared any. Right now they're saying we shouldn't expect clean air for 10 days at least. Bleh.
