*worships Alton Brown*

Woo! Found the Alton Brown turkey brining thing!

Part 1

Although the actual turkey brining doesn't happen until later in Part 2, after the thawing information.

(Part 1 is a lot of the history of Thanksgiving and general silliness.)

The [livejournal.com profile] dwinn is rabid devotee of the Alton Brown brining method. It's adorkable how he'll watch that episode every year.

I think I'm right there with him! I was sitting here with my face glued to the monitor, mentally prepping for next week. "Okay, so the lid stays on while the brine cools. *nods seriously*"

Doesn't Target carry an Alton Brown DVD on the Thanksgiving Good Eats?

Dunno. Yes? I've usually watched it on TV.

I've used that brining method before. Makes great roasted poultry.

Alton is my hero!

It really does make for a great turkey. Haven't had a bad or a dry one yet from this method.

I was not much of a cook before I started watching his show. He explained things in a manner that even a beginner dork cook could understand.

And get with the program. You need to update you K-9 icon...
