1. When is the CiN special again?

2. Was thinking about Astrid (someone, please take RTD's anagram generator away from him), and it could be pretty cool to see the TARDIS in human form. So far the TARDIS hasn't had a voice, and it'd be beyond interesting to get her take on things.

Astrid: *SLAPS*
Doctor: WHAT WAS THAT FOR??
Astrid: 800 years of underpants on the floor! It's not like I have Laundry Nanogenes!

Although - this thought just struck - maybe Astrid's not actually the TARDIS, but yet relates to the TARDIS?** The inside of the TARDIS exists in another dimension. And perhaps this version of the Titanic, Astrid and everyone else on board are from this TARDIS dimension? Would kind of explain how the Titanic wound up in the console room considering that the TARDIS' exterior is virtually impenetrable.

** After all, just because Torchwood is an anagram of Doctor Who, doesn't mean Torchwood is actually the Doctor. Related, yes.

I didn't realize it was so soon! Hey, what's the best way for a fellow Left Coaster to get their hands on CiN the quickest way possible?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-11-13 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Not exactly sure what's the quickest. My guess is that since it'll be short that it'll hit youtube pretty quick.

Now having seen the two-second flash in the CiN trailer I wonder if the publicity shots were done at a rather different point than the filming, 'cos David's hair looks like it aligns properly with LotTL in the trailer. Not that I'd trade these shots for anything...

I'm going to be at an anime convention - and I don't think I'll have access to a lappy - so it'll be Sunday afternoon at the earliest 'til I get to see it. But the whole shebang starts at 7.00 pm GMT on Friday - where Time Crash comes into that, I've no idea.

Don't blame Torchwood on RTD, that was a production staffer who originally used that to label tapes prior to Series 1's debut so they didn't get nicked in the mail.

They have had a human TARDIS, Compassion, in the Eighth Doctor novels, so one wonders... or maybe she's not the Doctor's TARDIS, but another TARDIS altogether. If this turns into that seventh-season Next Gen episode where the holodeck gave birth to a little gizmo, I will be annoyed though.

But what if I want to blame him?

Damn.

Oh, if it was done in a novel, that probably ups the chance it'll be done in this ep. They've nicked a few plots and/or concepts from the novels now, haven't they? I mean, beyond from completely reworking one into FoB/HN.

BWAHAHAHA!

I can so see the TARDIS bitching the Doctor out for all the times it was in danger, shot at, burned, pushed off a cliff, submerged underwater, and generally taken for granted.

:D

Not to mention beating on the console with a mallet! Much slapping. :D

You mean you don't think Bad Wolf Rose was actually the TARDIS' voice? Because after all it was the TARDIS who saved the Doctor. Rose had nothing to do with it. /snippiness.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-11-13 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. No, I never was of that mind.

And actually, after Utopia I started thinking of the TARDIS as an enabler, more than even an active participant. I just don't think the TARDIS would have screwed up with Jack.

Isn't there a moment where Tinkerbell makes herself human and kisses Peter pan?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-11-13 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
In the Robin Williams version, yeah.

Yeesh, this is going to cause me to give me way to much thought to the idea. Because as I recall that was the moment "Hook" sort of gelled for me. Because it wasn't about him going back to Neverland and being Peter Pan again, because he is a grown up married with kids and that's what he's fighting for.

And you know, that really works with Doctor Who, he's got this life and he's been losing himself in the Peter Pan/godlike aspects of late (although the losing touch with the wild side of him wasn't there in DW exactly) and the Tink/the TARDIS kisses him and he remembers, 'No wait, I love Rose. I mean, I adore you, but not like that because that's...not who we are. And I love Rose, I need to get back to her.'

Works for me!!

this friday!!!!!

im so waiting for Astrid to be all snarky after being mistreated for so long

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-11-14 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hooray!

And if Astrid really is the TARDIS, I fully expect to see amusing bitching.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-11-14 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
After thinking about it for a while, there's something about the idea of the TARDIS turning human so she can mack on the Doctor for a bit that's hitting all my "SQUICK" buttons. I think my right eyebrow is twitching up and down.

But abusing him for laundry transgressions is TOTALLY acceptable.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2007-11-14 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
OOH! You know what it is? It seems kind of incestuous, in a way. Like snogging your sister or something. EWWWWW.

Yeah. I realize I've gotten far, far away from the original point of your post. Um... anagrams are lame?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2007-11-14 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
You are so frickin' cute.
