Storm 2008
The winds are picking up, but I saved $36 on groceries! The latter gives me great comfort in the former, as now my fridge is full and I might -- just might -- be able to ride this baby out! The $36 in savings was due to two things: 1) I am my mother's daughter, and 2) I had a LIST when hitting the grocery store. Provisions needed to be gathered, people!
However, it struck me while I was filling my basket that I'd planned to make a lasagna AND roast a chicken this weekend... NO MATTER! I will be fed and dry! And have food to last me through the eventual looting and rioting during the mass chaos. I wonder if I should hide some food. Of course they'd assume I'd do that. Right, the fridge is the last place looters would look for food! WOO! *hides jug of water in the shower*
BRING IT!

The power's gone out in some places in the city, but not at my house. And no looting, so far as I know. *g*

And if there's any lasagna left, I'd like a piece.

On the plus side, the storm had already passed where I live by the time I got home. On the downside, it took a lot of power lines and trees with it (though, again on the plus side, some of those power lines went to my work. FREE SLEEP IN DAY! WHOO!)

It started raining here last night and still hasn't stopped, although we're not really getting any wind, which is good. We're just wet right now.
