I started watching "The Invasion" tonight. (An old Doctor Who episode with Two, Jamie and Zoe, parts of which have been lost.) I LOVE the animated reconstruction! LOVE. Having sat through other types of reconstructions (which I can't knock too hard as they're all labors of love), I LOVE THIS! Please to be animating every single lost episode NOW. And putting them on DVD so that I may Netflix them. I don't think this is demanding at all. Nope.

I tried to watch one yesterday - The Visitation with Peter Davidson, Teegan, Nyssa, and some kid.

OMG the pain. The agony.

I couldn't finish it.

And after seeing the Children in Need special, I could NOT take my eyes off that stalk of celery.

They definitely are different from the new, and most of them tend to go on WAY too long.

Heh heh. The celery.

I've gone through most of the other ones they have available for "instant view" and was able to get through them - including an old William Hartnell (ONE!) episode. This one was just particularly awful.

I think it was the android in sequins that got me. I don't know.

Man, I don't quite remember that one for some reason. I know I watched it because I commented on it in a post, but reading my comments don't really ring a bell.

Aren't the animated reconstructions made of WIN? Just wait, there's a funny little "blink and you'll miss it" moment somewhere that made the fangirl in me squee with surprise.

I always hope they'll do The Highlander episode with animation, but sadly I read somewhere in a DWM last year that further ani-reconstructions are on hold indefinately. Boo. Still, a girl can hope.

I think wiki told me about the moment, and that's so cool!!!

Why in the world would they hold the reconstructions? They're fantastic! Eh, probably money.
