Why don't hotel websites ever offer suites in their automated quotes? You have to actually go digging for the suites, even if they have them. Yes, I really want to shove 5 people into a standard room. NOT. I just don't get it. You'd think they'd be tripping over themselves to sell the higher priced room, especially a Disney property. Bah.

Heh. Seems like most the time I've been needing a hotel in the last couple of years, I've needed a suite. Not sure what that says...

Also, I'm tempted to lie to some friends about said suite, telling them I got some sort of ultra-discounted rate of $5 a night or something so they don't pay me back. It's completely selfish as *I* would love to be comfortable and it'd be fun, but...I probably won't do it. They'd probably find out about it and then feel guilty because in their minds it'd be way too much for me to spend... And I really don't want them to feel obligated to me in any way. Bleh.

I guess there are those little comfort-level lines that shouldn't be crossed.

Odd question for you: is anyone in your group military or former mil? If so, have you looked at what's available at Shades of Green?

Nope, none of us are. But that's really cool!

Oh, Disneyland, I assumed y'all meant WDW. My bad.

If you wanna fib, find the lowest price you can for the property during the year and tell them that's the price you paid?

That's might be doable, although even staying at a pricy Disney property would probably be questionable enough as far as price range. I've always wanted to stay at the Grand Californian, but maybe I should just go on my own sometime.

Perhaps if your discounted "lie" price was somewhat less obvious? I think you might be able to get away with "Oh, guess what? I got this RIDICULOUSLY good price for a hotel room from someone at work who knows someone who works there [aside: this has actually happened for my parents, so it's not as crazy sounding as it sounds] so it'll only be $20 a person [another aside: or whatever is reasonable]!" Just make sure your friends aren't standing next to you when you go to check out and pay. ;)

Hmmmmmmm. *plots*

Also: the mere mentions of suites and Disneyland are making me have flashbacks of the two of us trying to decide on a hotel for WC04! :D

Yes! And it was frustrating back then too!
