I watched "The Five Doctors" again the other day, which reminded me that the Doctor and the Master were in the Academy together. (Also, for a moment I thought that the Master's name might be Jehosephat, but have decided that was an exclamation on the Doctor's part. Although it is a bit hard to tell in the way it's said.)

Definitely a band split, and you know the Master was on drums, thus his obessions with the sound of drums, the drums are coming, here come the drums and that Voodoo Child song.

I'm still trying to figure out what the Doctor played. I'm thinking electric guitar and lead vocals.
