  1. Tired. Is it the 3-day weekend yet? How about now?

  2. Mysterious message to SG-1 types: HEE!!

  3. Not so mysterious message to DW types: I demand that Donna keep a Myspace page. And that it be full of cracky badness. (My MST3K roots go far too deep.)

  4. I've noticed this more and more lately when I go to grocery stores: women leaving their purses in their shopping carts while they wander off to look at something, backs completely turned. ARE YOU INSANE?? Of course, considering that these are generally the same people who go barrelling down the road in their SUVs, yapping on their cell phones and taking down random pedestrians, I've decided not to care as much if their purses get stolen due to stupidity. /rant

  5. I was looking at some SG-1-related stuff this morning, and some "to squee or not to squee" discussion. There's probably a big huge blathery thing I could write up, but it pretty much boils down to me hoping that no one ever feels like they can't squee about something, just because we don't see eye-to-eye about it. I kinda doubt that's the case with me (or hope, maybe), since while I'll get into a discussion/debate from time-to-time, I'm not the type to go pouncing in to tell someone how they're WRONG. And I never feel like someone's opposing opinion invalidates my own ideas about things, so I guess I just don't feel threatened or something.

You could probably call me a fandom pluralist - I've definitely got my own ideas about things that probably won't change, and I'm fine with people having completely different ideas about those same things. Oh, that doesn't mean I'll agree - sometimes I'll disagree strongly, even - but I'm not going to come storming in with a "NO! Bad fanperson! REPENT!"

    Oy. I blathered anyway.

What's the SG-1 squee going down? I have to admit, I'm more into Atlantis nowadays (it went off the air! it's not my fault!).

It's a cut scene from SGA (http://josephmallozzi.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/february-11-2008-script-work-the-doctor-drops-in-and-that-deleted-conversation/) that directly relates to S/J. :)

Niiiiiiice. I stopped reading his blog after realizing he didn't think too much of the fans who complained about Weir's departure.

[identity profile] katesutton.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! I thought that was it! It made me go : D:D, even years after quitting the show, thus proving some things will ALWAYS have a hold on me.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I never was one to read his blog, really. (Although there was a moment of flailing when I found out he mentioned a parody vid I did a while back. :D)

[identity profile] bittybye2000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank goodness. After listing to the commentary for "Unending" I was worried they were going to screw over the Jack/Sam fans and give us Teal'c/Sam.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
It made me grin too! (Even though it's not as off-the-charts-squeeful to me now as it would have been 5 years ago.)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Random - I've seen your icon around before, and it makes me laugh every time. :D

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I hope that towards the end of the season another MySpace will pop up.

Did you know that Jack has a Captian's Blog on BBC America's Torchwood webpage? That might tide you over as it covers everything that's aired on there.

That both pleases and terrifies me. :D

The whale/holstein hasn't aired here yet. That's the on that's on Saturday. And it's very Work Reportish. Here's the first one and all the links are right next to it. You may be able to get something out of that if you tried. I'd like to see you try, that's for sure.

That both pleases and terrifies me. :D

You do know I mean Rose right? I want her to blog about her squishy Time Lord and the various things he finds to lick.

And there may be a chance that that other MySpace will be updated soon as her first TW episode airs tonight/next week.

[identity profile] hyari.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I know *exactly* what you mean.

(quiet SQUEE!)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I want an awesomely drunken Donna Myspace blog. (Bah! Kids show. I'm probably not going to get that, am I?)

dear wurld:

'sup? i'm with the doctor and it's a daily strggle to not beat the carp out of him. keeeps talking bout 'wonders of the universe' and so i'm siting on him till he shuts the hell up. not the pervy way either you pervs...

[identity profile] a-white-rain.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you should write it after each episode~

Yeah, I knew you were talking about Rose. Just that whoever did Martha's blog last year did NOT do her character a service. Blog!Martha was pretty ridiculous and seemed to bear no relation to the actual onscreen character. It was painful even, which is why I had no guilt about mocking the hell out of it. Since blog!Martha seemed to revert to a 15-year-old, I'm kind of afraid of what they'd do to Rose.

And there may be a chance that that other MySpace will be updated soon as her first TW episode airs tonight/next week.

Oh, right!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
HEH.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
The "author" of Martha's blog said he did his research by talking to and reading the novels of the book writers. Doesn't that make you totally fear what are in those?

And speaking of the books, when did they have time to have 12! extra adventures in the timeline of the show? As well as their little jaunts in the blog? Methinks things didn't go according to plan as far as that character went and they were stuck.

We don't get Donna!novels until autumn. :( But it entertains me to no end that there will be "children's" novels with Donna as a main character.

Erm, quite a lot, yes. Although, it doesn't surprise me I suppose. There were a couple of Rose novels where I had a problem with the characterization. Who is this character and why do they keep calling her Rose? (Or the Doctor, a couple of times. Must let go of my Resurrection Casket rage...)

Holy cow, there were 12 books?

What, kind of like SJA or something?

My god, woman. Are you saying you're *sane*?!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Considering that I occasionally do Stuffed Animal Theater, I don't think I could claim that...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
And it's very Work Reportish.

Very. It's really dry and there's not really much I can use, sadly.

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Must let go of my Resurrection Casket rage...

I never actually read that. Just listened to it. So the dulcet Scottish tones might have blinded me to characterization.

Holy cow, there were 12 books?

Yep. Which bugged me as Rose got 12 books for her WHOLE run. Then again, maybe there were things they couldn't put in children's books that they did. I mean how much of a novel is, "And they cuddled and pet kittens."?

[identity profile] misssara11.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Which is really disappointed because it's Jack. Wouldn't you expect some innuedo-ish stuff?

The AIM conversations with yourself worry me more.

I'm actually not squeeing very much over this. It's cute, but I think I'm so far into my own fantasy land personal fanon where they've been doing it like bunnies ever since Jack left the SGC that the cut scene sort of feels like, "And this is news?"

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-13 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)

I cannot be held responsible when people leave me to my own devices in chat. Karen shall be held responsible.

That's just eccentric.

THANK YOU! That's been a pet peeve of mine for awhile now and honestly there are times I want to walk up and say "Excuse me, ma'a, you do realize someone could relieve you of your purse while you've got your head turned right?" Of course if it I did that they'd think I was thinking of stealing their purse so I just keep my mouth shut.

*giggles* Now I want an icon that says, "Bad fanperson! REPENT!"

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
I'm always tempted to push the cart down the aisle a ways to freak them out. You're much kinder than I am. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
HA! :D

YES EXACTLY.

See, EVERYONE in fandom should be like you. *admires*

(Also, "too much MST3K" is not a real thing. :P )

[identity profile] ninamazing.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I would use that. Please make one. xP

This is true.

I was almost certain I'd moved past SG-related squee.

:D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-02-14 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It sneaks up on you, doesn't it? :D

Sadly, my mad graphics skillz are currently in limbo (I'm on a borrowed computer until I can afford a new hard drive) or I would.
