In related news, it has been revealed that the Rani will be resurrected during the 2009 specials, to be played by Aishwarya Rai. No word yet on whether the Rani will make her debut during the Dalek-tastic opening special.

To the Discovery Channel: Does anyone care about how sanding disks are made?

Not too long ago, The History Channel had "The History Of Jello."

I watched it. Yeah, no excuse for that one. I was doing other stuff but, yeah. History of Jello.

As in an entire episode? I could see 5 minutes given on that one show on the Food Network that I never watch because mostly I never care about any of it. Unwrapped, I think it's called.

WHAT? Given to the correct writer, this could be canon.

The Discovery Channel has really gone downhill since it first started. I read an article talking about channels that don't show stuff like their original concept. He called it "channel drift". As a channel attempts to garner more viewers they start showing more shows that are "off the beaten path". Shows about sanding disks are in a deep forest, in a gully, and hidden in a deep, dark cave...

G4 went that way several years back, for some reason deciding to chase after a totally different demographic than the channel's original targets, but they've since come back to the original demo and padded out their schedule with apropos purchases from overseas, like Japanese game shows that would interest the average gamer.

I still like quite a bit of stuff they have nowadays, but other stuff not so much. Like Dirty Jobs...erm, okay. Just really never have any desire to watch a guy get dirty.

The one that really blows my mind is WRESTLING on the Sci Fi Channel. Yeeeeaaaaah.

Oh speaking of moron, I'd like to know why there's suddenly an explosion of "We are Rich Morons" shows. People as dumb as bricks with tons of money. Gives me warm fuzzies all over.

It's politcally incorrect to point out that poor people can be dumb but it's okay to point and laugh at the rich people who are stupid.

The thing is, why would you set yourself up for that?
