Captain's journal. Stardate…uh…March 6th. Point 2.

It's always a bit unsettling when LJ doesn't email comments.

I looked at the finished designs on Bravo's website last week, and had a bit of a different impression watching it all in motion.

Jillian - I liked her collection less. I think I still liked it best overall just based on it being more my taste, but it didn't really jump off the runway to me as much as in the photos.

Rami - I liked his collection more. Seeing it on film/video, you could see the detail that didn't show up on some of those photos. I did agree with the judges about the colors he chose. Really don't care for any of them.

Christian - I had about the same impression I did from the photos: I liked each of those black outfits, but they all seemed like the same outfit. Although I did like the feather thing better.

I'm not surprised Christian won, especially after Jillian's stuff didn't translate as well onscreen to me. And I'm sure they all looked different even still live.

I'm a bit surprised they didn't make them do a last-minute outfit, but also glad they didn't. That element always seemed gimmicky.

I can't believe it's over already! They should have more designers or something. I want a longer season!

ETA: Now on to Top Chef, which isn't as good as Project Runway, but can be entertaining.

I guess they didn't make them do it since they got their "extra episode" out of the Rami/Chris mini-runway show. I am so glad they didn't make them do it, because I *hate* when they throw crap like that into the mix.

I'm glad Christian won--I liked his stuff a lot better on the runway compared to what it looked like on the website. Rami's stuff was pretty but those colors...I hate teal and fushia, and *HOW* can any sane person put them in the same line-up of colors??? Also, his models had some trouble walking...not much you can do about it when you have GIANT dresses like he had, but...eh.

I wish they would stretch some of the challenges over a couple of shows, so we could see more of them actually creating the clothes--and Bravo would get twice the mileage out of nearly the same amount of money.

And you know it's going to be not on par with the rest of the collection. Why do it except for created drama? And stressing out the designers? They're already stressed enough as it is. By not having it, I think everything seemed more professional this year.

I have no idea why he chose those colors. I'm thinking most women - even most people - wouldn't necessarily choose an outfit in one of those colors. They're garish.

You'd think they'd have enough footage, wouldn't you? I'd watch.

I know! I feel like I'm stalking my own journal. Weird.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, no kidding. And stalk other people as well. Stupid LJ.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Right. Exactly. By replying to this comment right now, I am, in fact, telling you that I'm stalking you.

Or something.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
And I just had to stalk myself to see this, a byproduct was stalking you.

What's unsettling is that icon! Where in the hell did you find that one???

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You know you want one!

I was eating when I went there. Luckily nothing ended up on the computer monitor...

hmmm

i am not so impressed with Mr. Fierce. I did not like his collection at all-it was the same and to me, unless ou are tall, thin and have pencils for legs-no real person can wear his clothes-unless of course you are Posh Spice who is so thin a good wind could blow her way.

Jillian's stuff was much better-Christian is a one note.

His stuff was definitely not for the average woman. Even if you're the body type he designed for, it's still a very dramatic style that pretty much only the Victoria Beckhams of the world could pull off.

I wonder if he would have still won if she'd not been the guest judge. He seemed to get a definite advantage from her. (He might have - I don't really know. Just musing.)

i think so too-i think she loved his stuff.
and what is with Michael Kors-Brady bunch colors???
I have to tell you that some of their wins this year were really questionable. they let Ricky hang on too long and Victoria's prom dress won? My daughter looked at it and asked who in the hell would wear it?

I had to wonder, with the number of "worst dressed" lists she's been on, and the number of times she's been on "Go Fug Yourself," if she was really the best person to be judging a fashion show ...

[identity profile] syokhan.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
OT, but... your icon... *is mesmeized*

[identity profile] syokhan.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Obviously, I meant "mesmeRized". Time to go to bed, I think.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-06 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
You were probably too distracted by the icon. :D
