[livejournal.com profile] ficgate pointed me to a U.S. map of soda names!

I freekin' love the internet.

hahaha. That's awesome and surprisingly accurate (well, at least where I'm from).

And if you click on a state, you can get a county-by-county breakdown.

I love this map! What did we do before the internet?

My husband just noted that this correlates with political leanings.

You know, that's kind of funny. I'm from California (grew up in NoCal, spent 6 yrs in SoCal), then lived a year in Indiana before moving to TX ...

I've always called it "Coke" or "Soda" - typically Coke.

And I find it vastly amusing that nobody in Floyd county, IN (and only 4 people in Clark county) calls it "pop" ... I lived in both counties in the year I was in Indiana, and that was almost *all* I ever heard (which is why I loathe that term so much). Of course, there are other things I could say, but I'll stop myself here.

Also, I'm breaking my co-worker from Michigan of the "Pop" habit ;) He's starting to say "Soda" now :) Mwahahahahaha!!

Maybe none of the "pop" offenders wanted to respond to the survey? :D

And breaking a Michigander from their pop ways - that's impressive!
