Will this week end already???

*flops*

*distracts self*

I've known for a while that David Tennant is an enormous Doctor Who fanboy. I'm guessing that if you asked him pretty much any DW trivia question, he'd probably have the right answer.

But I didn't know he was dorky about other shows as well. [livejournal.com profile] larissa_j pointed this out to me. He was on a quiz show about The West Wing. (Yes, the U.S. TV show The West Wing.) And he knew answers that I wouldn't have had a clue about, even though I watched the show. And he even argued an answer a bit when he got one wrong. BWAH! This is awesomely dorktastic.

(And it kind of makes me want to watch TWW again.)

He really is adorable, innit he? And that quiz show, I think, might have been the thing that won me over entirely to David Tennant (as opposed to David and the Doctor): the fact that the man was as big a fanboy as me over this completely unrelated show.<3

[identity profile] ninamazing.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
That is a fantastic icon.

And I already saw one of your comments to [livejournal.com profile] goldy_dollar's post and thought exactly the same thing, so clearly you have good taste in icons. :D

[identity profile] tsukara.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, thanks! Extra icons are my guilty pleasure. :D

His story about meeting the guy who played Toby backstage after a play in London and that actor having no clue who David was (yes, this was after he started playing the Doctor) is such a sweet, and typical, fan story.

[identity profile] tsukara.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I remember hearing that in the interview and having to pause it so I could get over my laugh-attack. 'Never meet your heroes' would be the general lesson there.

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, at least Shakespeare thought the Doctor was cool, neh?

[identity profile] tsukara.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
That's true. :)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I normally don't pay that much attention to the actors themselves, but I find his overall nerdiness incredibly cute. :D

[identity profile] tsukara.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Me neither, but David's hard to not pay attention to. Especially when he wanders around in a kilt. Or squees over Julie Andrews. Or does something awesome and unexpected for a fan.

He just generally is un-ignorable and seems like a really sweet guy.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Or is covered from head to toe in velvet. Repeatedly. *facepalm*

Yeah, it was him versus Arabella Weir - who he used to room with back in the day when he first moved to London, so one wonders if they used to hang out and watch it together.

She was also apparently his first taste of the red carpet, 'cos when her partner didn't want to go to events, David would be her +1.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Awww! I didn't know that little bit of trivia.

[identity profile] principia-coh.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Also, after having seen him on TWWC, I did wonder if he squeed a little during AoG when he was getting to do all those Sorkinesque walk-and-talks.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
He probably did. :D

[identity profile] ninamazing.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
OH MY GOD YOU HADN'T SEEN THAT ONE BEFORE??!!!! THAT LIKE MADE MY LIFE. :DDDDD

I was a little upset, though, that he didn't know Josh's quote from "Mandatory Minimums."

But I still want to date him. xP

Nope! Hadn't seen it! I'm telling you, I usually don't pay that much attention to what an actor does outside a show that I'm interested in.

I was a little upset, though, that he didn't know Josh's quote from "Mandatory Minimums."

Ha!

[identity profile] brilliantomega.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 08:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I was answer right along with him and got the one he missed. His fall was hilarious.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Go you! :D

And the treadmill thing. MWAH.

(And I'm really getting the urge to watch TWW again. Hmmm.)

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
What? You're watching DT things that I haven't even bothered with?

My entire world view is just like... all askew.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
STUPID TORCHWOOD WITH ITS BYE WEEK.

(And you should watch, if only for the treadmill bit. :D)

STUPID TORCHWOOD WITH ITS BYE WEEK.

And now I'm *really* worried about you.

Treadmill bit?

[identity profile] solielle.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:20 pm (UTC)(link)
*supplies icon for evidence* It's funnier in context, though.

In one part of it he has to answer questions while on a treadmill that speeds up. And proceeds to fall off it. :D

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
BWAH. Okay, now I've got to see it. :D

[identity profile] suzvoy.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
FINALLY I know where the David Tennant treadmill thing comes from. Thanks!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd seen that around before and had no idea where it came from either. :D

[identity profile] solielle.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it when you find, like, quiz shows or whatever after fandom has already squeed itself to death over them. It's cute!

(And yes! TWWC was awesomely dorktastic. Oooh, I think there was a bit near the beginning where he misses a question, and then proceeds to completely over-answer the next one to make up for it. I was so amused by the competitiveness.)

Proof I really don't pay attention to fandom at large! :D

Uh huh. Mwah!

[identity profile] rynne.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Hah. I knew all of them, even the ones he got wrong. (How could he have mistaken Josh's PTSD for Josh's God joke? But then, I'm a big Josh fangirl. :D) I wonder what this says about me...

Still. David, you're so adorable, especially when you ramble and when you trip over treadmills. *squishes him* :D

Bad fanboy!

Totally!

[identity profile] svanderslice.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
yes, he is adorkable. We know this. Thanks so much for sharing the love.

The big question, however, is WHY do they have a British quiz show about an American show that takes place in the White House?

Doesn't this strike anyone else as a bit strange?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I boggled a bit about that as well. Especially since we don't have anything like that over here. But then I decided (as I do with a lot of things) that the British are adorable and left it at that. :D

Bwah! Okay, that was hilarious.

MC: Who did Bartlet relinquish power to?
DT: John Goodman!

Hahahahahaha.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-28 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! That cracked me up! :D

[identity profile] tripocket.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
See, he does stuff like this and I think that maybe he may just be the most perfect dork ever. If he had done this show in the velvet suit...weeellll I don't thing I'd have recovered from that.

Now, was the second part on there? I want to see the whole thing!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-29 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't see a second part and youtube turned up nothing. :-\

[identity profile] countrygirl-914.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I randomly found this a while back. And him falling off the treadmill is the best thing ever. HEE!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-03-31 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Totally funny!
