Really, I'm just trying to distract myself so I won't click any spoilers.
Swiping this meme from
goldy_dollar. And it's not on my Doctor/Rose filter. I think the flist at large could probably handle seeing one D/R post without unfriending. Maybe.
This was hard because I have waaaaay more than 5, and they're all "top moments." MWAH. So I went a bit more with "significant" moments, as opposed to "squee" moments or something.

- 5. The funny thing about this moment is that it only lasted for mere seconds. And one we have absolutely no context for. However, it pretty much sums up these two for me. It didn't matter if they were running for their lives, running because they'd just played ding-dong-ditchem, running because they'd just saved the universe again, or running to try and ditch Jackie and her forced shopping excursion. Good, bad, silly, trivial, profound - whatever it was, they absolutely loved doing it together. It energized them both.
4. We'd seen how Rose had been there for the Doctor during his hurting moment, but Rose is someone who naturally offers comfort. The Doctor's generally aloof and closed off. Add to that the fact that they'd just had a really ugly fight, and Rose nearly destroyed the universe. But there's no booting out of the TARDIS, no "told you so"s. Just sympathy and comfort because she's hurting. It's very reciprocal, and pretty big for him.
3. Watching the Doctor fall into a significant-other-type relationship was often like watching someone trying to give a cat a bath. He had issues and history and baggage and did I mention issues? Ones he never wanted to talk about. (The Doctor is basically "Guy Plus Plus Plus Plus Plus.") A big one was his death issue. Here he finally verbalizes that he'll be unable to leave Rose, in spite of the fact that he'd have to watch her grow old and die. The thought kills him, but at this point he couldn't let go if he tried. Like Rose realizing the Doctor is worth any heartache, the Doctor realizes Rose is worth any pain.
2. Rose comes back for the Doctor. She had a chance at a safe life, but she goes back for him. And at the same time finally chooses which life to commit to and which person to commit to. And then the Doctor saves her right back. It's enormous and grand - what else would you expect when it comes to the Doctor?
1. Forever. Yeah, Rose's concept of "forever" isn't the same as the Doctor's, but she was telling him she'd give him her forever. And not only does the Doctor smile at this (it took him a really long time over the course of two series for this to make him genuinely happy without him going into some sort of relationship-related freakout), but he's the one to ask her about it. It's not a "snog each other senseless" moment, but instead happy contentment with each other.

I think the fact that HE was the one to ask is what makes this moment so profound. And the way that he says it, you can just tell that he already knows what the answer is going to be, and Rose for her part has this little look on her face like "how many times are you going to ask?" They are just so comfortable and sure in each other there. It's a fantastic moment between the two.

And now I'm amused at the thought of the Doctor asking this repeatedly.
Doctor: Morning! So how long you gonna stay with me? Anything change from yesterday?
Rose: Well...
Doctor: O_O
Rose: Kidding! Duh! This is only the 15th time you've asked this week, you know.
Doctor: Ha, ha. Right. Good one. *attempts to re-start one of his hearts*

*wibbles at the thought of Rose not staying put this time*

I was so tempted to comment with a dramatic "!11!!unfriends!!!" but then I was distracted by all the pictures. :D
And OOOH! We have moments in common! (OMG, I was so glad I didn't have to combine S1 and S2). It's not fair. I think I stayed up half the night trying to figure this out. Well, a good hour or so. That's KIND OF the same thing.

Yes! So true! :D And it never really mattered how many times the Doctor screwed up the date/time/destination/whatever - they STILL had fun. It's kind of like their theme. That, and the bringing death to furry animals.
Like Rose realizing the Doctor is worth any heartache, the Doctor realizes Rose is worth any pain.

HA!
And OOOH! We have moments in common!
I didn't try to pick the same, but on some of them you just *have* to.

Yup. Giant love for life there.

And posts like these are just making me worry even more about s4! :S

YUP.
And I've been meaning to ask this forever - is your icon from a fan drawing? Or is it from a DW comic? Or...?
And posts like these are just making me worry even more about s4! :S
ACK!
Uh...hope for the best, but brace for the worst?

And I'm trying to prepare for the worst but I keep getting my hopes up! :S

*lalalalas at S4*

But see! That means speculating on the worst, and my brain is capable of coming up with many possibilities. Well, two possibilities in particular, and I don't think I can be properly prepared for EITHER of them.
I know what I need! More COFFEE! *wanders off*

WORD. That completely sums up their relationship for me. Having fun together and saving the universe as well. :D
Yep. Best scene that is. Both accepting the pain that could/can/will come... but oh so worth it.
*Happy sigh* :)

*nods*
And that's something I really loved seeing. Yeah they took things seriously too, but they loved that life. The Doctor's glee'd at his lifestyle for centuries, and now Rose did too.

Because the exact moment I would have chosen would have been Rose's speech in the chip shop about WHY she has to go back for him. I love that speech.
Damn, now I want to do this. Perhaps minus the caps.

It was quite a fantastic story for any two people, never mind one of them being this superhero-type person.

I do too, even though it's a speech she tends to get knocked for in fandom. Part of the reason I like it is because it's a frustrating and emotional moment for her - it's very true to her character.
