I'm convinced they missed out on verifying once and for all that the Ood = Dr. Zoidberg from Futurama. Because it's true, but TPTB are being so damn coy about it.

Snagged this pic from [livejournal.com profile] larissa_j.

Though we did make the Matt Groening connection with the Homer Simpson!Ood. That made the Portland girl squee.

That made me laugh. Forget Dickens' work being immortal, Homer Simpson's immortal. :D

Both the Ood and Dr. Zoidberg are, as any good D&D player knows, Illithids (aka Mind Flayers).

HA! I'm SURE that's where the Futurama nerds PTB got it from! They've gone on about D&D on the commentaries before, after all. :D

"So, what are you guys doing tonight? I'm up for whatever."

Because Ten and Donna's expressions say it all. *g*

I love their expressions - would fit a bunch of these quotes, I'm thinking. :D

Oh God - now I'm being harassed by a Futurama/DW crossover plot bunny. Ack! *hides from the bunny*

EXCELLENT. :D

Oh, man, I am so glad that I was not the only one yelling surrender your mysteries to Zoidberg!

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't believe I missed that quote!! GAH!

[identity profile] orange-crushed.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
To really rub it in, there's also "some day they'll watch, from down in the gutter they will, as King Zoidberg caresses their fancy box! "

I love him so much it's ridiculous.

That would have been perfect! :D

Can't choose. All too funny to decide. Futurama and Doctor Who work so darn well together that I'm surprised the Futurama staff didn't try to shove in more in-jokes.

...Now I'm wishing I had to skills to overdub all the Ood lines in this episode with Zoidberg ones. I wonder if the episode could still be coherant...

I know! "Leela" is a big one, but there could have been more.

O.M.G. I also wish I had those skills.

I don't watch Futurama (though I'm familar with the show) and didn't make the connexion (till now).

My first thought was always Cthulu...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-04-21 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Had to look that up. Unless it's been on TV or movies, I'm pretty much sci-fi/fantasy illiterate.

So you're move tv-centric than I am. :)
