I've figured out Lost.

Yup.

And they're on Earth, playing a long game where there are rules and the goal is to get off the planet first without using alien tech - only stuff made by Earthlings is allowed, hence the Island of scientists. (Also, killing people on a pre-defined list isn't allowed. And no killing each other.) The loser has to sniff the other's socks.

Or something.

P.S. If you kill Penny, I will be VERY CROSS.

Personally I think the island the survivors are on is really the inside of a TARDIS. I mean that dorky scienitst dude did say something about time 'being relative'.
