The buying process is a long one for me...

Okay, the video you can watch for this game is seriously cracking me up.

Lego Star Wars

Oh, dude, the kids have spent many hours entertained SOLELY by blowing each other up into pieces. And Leia in her bikini does a hoochie-mama dance. Cracks me up every time.

Oh, I gotta agree with you on this one. In the part of episode one where you play as Queen Amidala and the Captain, my sister was so mad because I, as player 1, automatically got to play as Amidala, and I wouldn't swap out bodies with her. So for like half an hour she ran around shooting at me going, "I wanna be an assassin, I wanna be an assassin."

Mind you, my sister's 16. And since she kind of fails at video games, I just turned around and blasted her to pieces every time she got close.

Brought me no end of entertainment.

Is trufax. And Player 1 always gets to be the coolest player. First Qui-Gon, then Amidala and so on and so forthes.

And I am always Player 1. *is smug*

*snorts*

It reminds me of Monkey Island humor - that "self-parodying but still an actual game" thing. (Oh man. Monkey Island on Wii. A girl can dream, right?)

Seriously, if you buy a Wii, you HAVE to buy this game. I have it for the XBox 360, and it's probably the most fun game I have. You can use the Force against other players, which is really fun, especially when the other player is someone on your side who has just body swapped with a C3PO like character. Because when you Force them, they go all limp and kinda dead for a minute.

Also with these characters, the C3PO ones, if you hit them with your lightsaber, they don't die automatically. First they lose their right arm, then their left leg, which is really funny because then he's hopping around on one foot, then their left arm, and then I think if you hit them again, they asplode and then come back whole.

It's the most entertaining game there is. Seriously.

I don't have a Wii...yet. I'm really thinking about it though.

And I was totally laughing at the video when they used the Force on Jar Jar. :D

[identity profile] nicachick007.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly. If that thinking leads to a purchase, do NOT leave the store without this game.

And hell yes, I love to use the Force on Jar Jar. Especially when he's in mid-air because Jar Jar can jump higher than everyone else, which sometimes is handy, but if you time it right, you can Force him away from what he was planning on landing on and make him fall off a cliff. And that's the other thing: Every character has a different voice, so they each make different noises when they die or fall of cliffs. It amused my sister and me so much we just spent like 10 minutes throwing our characters off the cliffs.

Hahahaha :D Now I feel like playing that game again.

*hooks up XBox*

[identity profile] ivydoor.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Absolutely the funniest sound is the one R2D2 makes when you throw him off a cliff.

Heh.

Oh, and Chewbacce will rip the arms off of baddies and beat them to death with their own limbs.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh man, that's gotta be great in Lego form!

[identity profile] nicachick007.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG So true. Love R2D2's scream.

*hee*

And sadly I haven't gotten as far as Chewy yet, but I will definitely be looking forward to that now.

That trailer is awesome! Whats the point of a star wars game if you can't kill jar jar and ewoks? And dare I say it-my padme/vader ship can finally be realised!?

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd say it can finally be realized! :D

[identity profile] syokhan.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, Luke doing his little jump on the plank... And Chewbacca's reaction... That's one of my favourite scenes in this part of the movie, so... *cracks up*

This does look like a fun game! :)

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that jump! HA!!

And Darth Vader showing a photo to Luke at the end! :D I really need to get this.

[identity profile] syokhan.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And Darth Vader showing a photo to Luke at the end!

Yeah, and Luke's like 'No way! *jumps off*' XD

Oh man. You're making me want to buy a Wii too...

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoopsie! :D

[identity profile] earenwe.livejournal.com 2008-05-26 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
If you want to demo it before you buy it, you can go to any Apple Store and it will be an option on the kids' computers in the back. I admit, it's a terribly fun game. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I...kinda bought the PC version just now. *coughs* :D

Well...the original trilogy version.

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
I have Lego Star Wars the Original Trilogy for the Wii and it pretty much rocks! Though to be honest there are definitely times where I have to go and read a hint guide to try and figure out how to get to the next part of the level. Most enjoyable though.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
I'm thinking that the Wii's controls are 100 times better than the PC version, which pretty well sucks.

[identity profile] chiroho.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
I played the PC demo a long time ago and found that with the weird key combinations, it was very hard to play. I've read/heard that you can get an Xbox controller with a USB connection and hook it up to your PC to play various games, particularly things like Lego SW, and I think it works a LOT better if you do that, but of course you're talking about spending more money. Might be worth investigating though.

Of course, the Wii controls are very good - though you need both a Wiimote and a Nunchuck in order to play.

[identity profile] tsukara.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Man, I have always wanted to do that to JarJar Binks.

*ahem*

Yea verily, I did guffaw most heartily. :D

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-05-27 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
I did too. :D
