- There will be a Torchwood audio play next month? Really?*
- Martha's in the audio play?
- Any word about her being in the abreviated S3? (Aside from that ITV vs. BBC tabloid stuff which strikes me as a lot of bullshit. Why would people care if the actress worked at an ITV show at the same time? DW's had guest actors from ITV shows in the past - feel free to gasp.)
* Right, you hosebeasts. Gimme an alt!verse audio play! I will buy the CD! I SWEAR!

2. Uh huh!
3. The latest I heard is that she isn't - of course there's that whole story about a fallout with RTD, which is why she's gone to Law and Order. I don't believe that myself, but someone supposedly spoke to Gareth D-L and they claim Freema isn't attached to the project. Time will tell how true that is though. I still think we're in with a chance...

Hmmm. I still hope she'll be on it. Of course, I don't care whatsoever about Law & Order, so that's probably clouding my judgment. :D

2. Is she?
3. I thought the ITV, BBC stuff started because the news media made it seem that Freema decided to work on CSI London and not work on Torchwood? So the issue is probably more over her decision to go to the other show (if she won't be in any more TW episodes) instead of BBC competing against ITV? Not sure. ^_^"

I think she is, and I'd no idea about the audio thing until today!

Oh, what I saw was that the BBC was furious - furious, I say! - that she went to an ITV show, and so kicked her off of Torchwood. If she's not on Torchwood, I've gotta believe it's for reasons other than *that.*

I read that she isn't in S3, and I thought there was official confirmation on that but I'm not sure. I know she's been cast in a bunch of new series (Law & Order, Survivors, Little Dorritt) so maybe she's just too busy?

I know! Just sit in front of a mic! No one can see the tummy and no physical activity required!

I'd buy that she's too busy, but the tabloids made it sound like they'd kicked her off of Torchwood.

I haven't been TOO aware about things, but TW S3 was supposed to be filming by now and I haven't heard anything about them starting, which makes me think that they're doing rewrites and scrambling to replace her. That's purely my own speculation though - not based on anything real.

That I could believe.

Hmm. They were supposed to be starting soon, weren't they? Or was that more in the fall?

Honestly, I kinda don't blame Freema for taking the other. She hasn't done anything but DW/TW in her career and it's a great opportunity for her. It just sucks that it came at the expense of TW.

2. No idea.
3. No word other than the rumor. People are making a big deal out of RTD skipping a couple of events to continue writing, but that doesn't have to mean that it's because of Freema being in L&O. We still haven't heard any official word (I think) on who else besides John, Eve and Gareth are going to be in Torchwood S3. If anyone. *shrug* I felt like they were implying Mickey & Martha at the end of DW S4, but it was just an implication. They don't have to go there at all.

And yeah, all I've heard so far have been the rumors as well. One article that talked about the audio play said it would have Martha "and two new cast members." Now whether or not that's Mickey and some one else, or if it's guest cast, I've no idea.

You know there are....technically Torchwood audios. The actors read the tie-in novels (like they did with the Doctor Who tie-ins) for the first series. I've only ever made it through half of one.
Though I think I'd love a proper audio play a bit better. (And they TOTALLY need to get on the Alt!Verse audios. Or comics. Or books. Or hell, grafitti the wall of the Cardiff studio once a week. I'm not gonna be picky.)

Oh me too. Totally. I'm really not wild about their audio books - they abridge the hell out of them and so I'd much rather read it myself. The audio plays, on the other hand - if it's anything like the Eighth Doctor audio I listened to, I'm sold.

The graffiti is starting to sound pretty good. :D

Oddly, Martha not being in Torchwood makes my interest level go down. I think I've been going "lalalala" through all the rumours.

SERIOUSLY. Also, while I was walking the dogs today, I decided that after RTD stops working on DW he could... start writing DW novels about the alt!verse. I might have had a bit too much sun at the time, but at one point I was convinced this would actually happen and got really excited. I have no control over my brain sometimes.

Apparently.

I'd be disappointed. I really liked the idea of her and Mickey turning up there.

BWAH!! Hmmm. Maybe he could go in disguise and post fanfic online. I'd look for a D/R shipper who dabbles in Doctor/Master. ;)

Or fanfic! No, seriously. I read a quote in a DWM from a couple of months ago last night wherein he was talking about the things that were affected by the Doctor's death in TL that weren't shown in the episode (like the Carrionites), and he said he would leave that to fanfic... including his own. Oh, Rusty. *pats*

It's really more about the rivalry between the two stations than about the actors themselves. The BBC does hate losing it's talent to ITV (see things like Trinny & Susanna), but I don't think they have any sort of "go to them and you'll never work for the BBC again" policy. They just keep finding all this new talent and then losing them because people get pissed about them paying too much to keep talent when they're bitching about paying a licensing fee. It's rare that you get people like Jeremy Clarkson who could easily get more at ITV or another rival, but doesn't leave because he enjoys the freedom from worrying about things like pleasing advertisers, not having to be quite so pc, etc. that the BBC provide.

I hope so, anyway, because a 5 episode miniseries is not the time to introduce new cast members.
