This week's Middleman had Doctor Who references! HA!

First off, this was so SO funny. One of the better eps, IMO. The references and dialog flew. Okay, they usually do, but this was really great.

After that shower scene, I've decided that Matt Keeslar and Natalie Morales have the best comic chemestry EVER. Their slug fight in a previous episode was hysterical and their stripped-down shower scene here where we see them just before they have to scrub each other while in the nude - SO FUNNY. It's deadpan humor that works because they play it straight.

There were even Doctor Who references! I only caught two, but there might have been more. First, the NASA guy's name was Lethbridge Stewart. "If that is your real name!" HA! The next one was the alien protocol (I think it was a protocol) called "Peri Perpugilliam." *snickers*

The only thing I was wrinkling my eyebrows at was when Wendy started talking about the Middleman being like her surogate father. I mean, it was a nice moment and all, but HE'S MY AGE. How about "older brother?" "Young uncle?" HMPH.

ETA: Oh awesome! The creator of the show has a journal, and posts about the show. A LOT.

Just wanted to say... I kept seeing you talking about this Middleman show I'd never heard of, so I naturally had to find and watch some episodes. It's so weird and fun. And though I haven't seen the latest ep yet, since I'm not caught up, Who references can only make it even better. :D

It is! I generally enjoy anything that plays around with genre cliches, which MM does so well. And the little details they include are pretty amazing. Plus, I just love a show that is clever without being pretentious.

They were flying fast and furious. "Harriet" and...um...I forget what name MM used, but it was also a Who character -- and while flashing ID, à la "Harriet Jones, [insert current job description here]." Also there was something about Zygons with the containment unit thingie. And at least two or three others than I'm forgetting.

Never mind! I found it!

Whoops! I wasn't 100% sure of it, so I used preview to make sure it came up properly. When did they stop having bad usernames come up in just bold? *pout*

Also, I guess I didn't miss any after all. And I like our interpretation of "Specialist Heriot" better.

I like it better too.
