The Bad
  • Gum on the pavement which got on my shoe which got in my NEW CAR. Anyone who throws gum on the ground? KARMA.

  • Had kind of a backslide today health-wise. I was doing so well on Friday and Saturday, and then today... I hate this.

The Good
  • Made myself some homemade chicken soup. Really homemade. Water, chicken, other stuff. And mmmmmmmm. So good. My own version uses garlic, ginger, green onions, mushrooms, carrots... None of this celery crap. BLECH.

  • I was complaining the other day that I couldn't get my hands on the final part of that mystery involving Lord Monocle (or something like that) and Harriet, and low and behold, BBC 7 has been airing the audio play! And I could just sneak in to listen! Actually, they're only half-way through the series right now, but a couple more days and I wouldn't have been able to listen to the first part. Can't imagine anyone else is interested, but over here if you are.

The description of your soup just made me hungry for some homemade chicken soup, which is rather hard to get when one is at school...

Hope you're feeling better soon, though, being sick (in any way, shape, or form) is absolute rubbish.

It's nothing like the canned stuff. I can't stand the canned stuff.

And thanks. :)

*hugs* I hope you feel better!

Also, people who leave gum where others can step in it suck. Blech.

Thanks. I'm feeling...sort of okay this morning.

I'm pretty sure it just happened too - don't think it was there when I got out of my car. It's DISGUSTING.

I am sufficiently amused at my own psychic abilities to quote from the panicked email conversations Frances and I had the other week:

Her: I sent her an email 30 minutes ago and haven't received a reply. *FLAILS*
Me: Well she *is* ill. Maybe she went to bed early? Or she's having chicken soup? Or she met up with a strange man who travels around time and space in a blue phone box and writes bad emo poetry about his ex?

That said, Michelle not on the internet is somewhat worrying.

So since the chicken soup became reality, if I were you I'd keep your eye out for police boxes! ;-)

Hope you're feeling better soon!

You really MUST read the books. Dorothy Sayers, I mean. The movies of the Harriet books are pretty good, but the books are WONDERFUL. Especially Gaudy Night and Busman's Honeymoon.

Just because I HAD to say that.

OMG you have a Lord Peter icon!!

I'm really enjoying the audio of Busman's Honeymoon, but I imagine the books are better. Might just have to get them all. The Harriet ones, at least.

I reread the Harriet books about once a year. I enjoyed the other books, too, but the Harriet ones are my favorites.

Say, have you ever read the later books someone else wrote about Peter and Harriet? I was wondering if they're any good.

[identity profile] threerings.livejournal.com 2008-09-17 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
No. They are not good. Just. No.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2008-09-18 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
HEH! Won't read them then.
