Why does no one make comfortable dress shoes? Yes, I know that complaining about shoes is one step away from yelling at the kids to get off your lawn, but...why does no one make comfortable dress shoes? Anything that's remotely cute has zero cushioning in it and/or the designer thinks that toe-squishing is a natural state. I can endure pain if there's some sort of short event, but how about something you can wear all day to work? HMPH. GET OFF MY LAWN.
Salted caramel hot chocolate at Starbucks? MMMMMMMMM. SO GOOD. I still can't drink more than a tall because it's so rich, but that bit of salt does help cut down on the sweet, which I like.
The latest Futurama is pretty funny - "Bender's Game." D&D is involved. Heh. But quite possibly the best single thing in it is this:
I'm pretty sure a wienerdog in a bottle trumps everything else in creation.
Ugh, dress shoes. It took me forever to find suitable footwear for work; I refuse to wear heels, and my feet are shaped funnily in a multitude of ways, so I had about three pairs to choose from. I like the Michel M brand (can't find a website, sorry) for reasonably-priced, comfy leather quasi-professional shoes. I have a cute pair of cross-strap mary jane-type shoes in brown, some brown ankle boots that are almost as comfy as my old hiking boots, and a pair of black sandals that I adore from them. Eastland is another good brand, although they can be more expensive if you don't find a sale (BTW, reasonably-priced for me is under about $35). They're not OMGCUTE or sexy or whatever, but they look nice and don't hurt.
I'll have to keep my eyes out for those brands. I don't mind not having really generic-looking shoes when it comes to my work outfit. "Look nice and don't hurt" is exactly what I'm looking for.
I think the shoe thing is universal. I've never owned a pair of men's dress shoes that were comfortable. What I never understood was the need to put slippery soles on dress shoes. It's like people dressed up don't need to have good traction.
Not that they're the prettiest things ever, but for both men's and women's workplace-acceptable shoes, I'd suggest Shoes for Crews if you specifically need either slip resistant or safety-toed shoes. They're not pricey either.
Torture devices known as shoes have always been a pet peeve, but moreso since the development of arthritis. Erg. If you ever do find some decent looking and comfortable shoes, they cost a small fortune. I'm a fan of softwalks- probably no good if you need arch support, but for me they're heavenly. I try on all the expensive shoes, find a style and size that's comfortable, then keep a watch on ebay. People list brand new shoes on there all the time and you can get some pretty good deals.
Salted caramel hot chocolate? *THUDS* Big fan of salty and sweet, sounds heavenly!

I don't think I've ever worn a *truly* comfy pair!
Also, I have no idea why that dog is in a bottle, but it is AWESOME.

I don't get it. There's an inverse ratio between cute and comfortable. WHY?

Isn't it?? One thing Futurama does do well is random. :D

If you're talking strappy Jimmy Choos then, you're right, they're not meant to be comfortable. :D

Nordstrom is the only place I've seen one really cute pair of Sofft mary jane pumps though: the Sofft Carma.
