This might not be news to you, but it's news to me. Not major news, but amusing news.
Frobisher?? Please tell me this is the Frobisher and that we're actually going to see the penguin!! A PENGUIN ON TORCHWOOD WOULD WIN AT CRACK.
Also, I'm not seeing Noel or Freema's names on the IMDB lineup for the "Children of Earth" miniseries. This makes me sad.

Are we going to get LIVE ACTION FROBISHER?
Oh. Em. Gee. That would so make up for killing Tosh. Sorry, Tosh but....Frobisher.
I'm not too surprised about the lack of Freema, because her decision to do Law & Order kind of nixed any sort of Who-related episodes. I do wonder about Noel, though.

MAYBE??

HA!
But yeah - I really hope we're getting a shape-shifting penguin! WOO! Even though I've never seen/heard/read a single episode with Frobisher in it, HE'S A PENGUIN. It's sort of a no-brainer. :D

Yeah. I was sorta hoping since it's a short season, but...yeah.

REALLY would have loved to have seen him turn up on Torchwood. I suppose he still could come on later.

Also, happy birthday!

*nods* I've never seen/heard the penguin in action, but...I REALLY want a penguin on Torchwood now. :D
Also, happy birthday!
Thanks!

We may not see those two no the series again - especially Freema as she working for the BBC's nemesis...

But yeah, after JE aired he posted something on his blog saying that "Mickey Smith has left the building" and made it sound very much like he never wanted to play the character again. Sad, but true.

Yeah, I was kinda hoping too. I think he would have been a great addition to Torchwood.
And happy birthday!
Thanks! :)

"The highly motivated Torchwood team are John Barrowman as Captain Jack Harkness, Eve Myles as Gwen Cooper, and Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones. Other regular cast involved in their high-octane adventure are Kai Owen as Rhys Williams, Gwen's husband, and Tom Price as PC Andy.
Special guests in the five part series are Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Thick of It, Skins), who plays the role of Mr Frobisher - a civil servant who's hiding a terrible secret; Paul Copely (Coronation Street, The Bill) as Clem - the survivor still haunted by his past and Liz May Brice (Bad Girls, The Bill) as Johnson - the cynical covert government agent determined to expose Torchwood."
I've never heard of Frobisher the Penguin - I am very confuzzled?

Frobisher was a Companion to Six and Seven in some DWM comics.

NOW.
*cough* Sorry.
So, even if they don't explicitly state that he's the same Frobisher, we know he is. Shape shifter and all.
Aw, I'm sad for no Noel. Knew that Freema had other work and might not be appearing, but JE sure set up Mickey joining Team TW. Wait... does this means Jack rejected him?!

HEE. YES! I'm pretty sure this will be my personal canon if he's a different Frobisher. :D

It did set it up. Hmm. Maybe Jack suggested a 3-way one too many times. :D

Could be. Or maybe after a few years working for the sleek, competent organization of Pete's World's TW, he spent half a day at the Hub before he rang Martha. "Hey, you think you could put a good word in for me with Unit?"

Noel did say in his blog that as far as he was concerned JE was the last time he would play Mickey. Don't know if he meant just Doctor Who or both.
And Happy (belated) Birthday!
Hope you had a great one! :D
