It's 53 degrees here right now. For the high. In Southern California, that's damn near apocalyptic. We just sort of stare at the outdoors, very confused. Much like my icon.
I passed two people coming out of a building while at lunch, and this was their conversation:
Person 1: You look outside and think it's normal because it's sunny, but then you step outside...
Person 2: And it's freezing! I know! It's so weird!
Me: [contemplates suggesting an ice age, but is too cold to stick around and hurries back to the office with my soup]

I can refrain from ever writing fluff again, you know.
The other day, it reached 5 degrees here (Celsius - not sure what that is in American - 40, maybe?), and I stripped all the way down to my t-shirt on the way to school. And even then I still broke out into a sweat.
That day feels like a hazy memory, now.

Well, you're Canadian. You're part polar bear.

I love listening to other peoples' conversations. I was at the bus stop and overheard a pair of little kids arguing with their dad about whether it's 6 or 10 days until Xmas. Aww.

For Seattle, that's insane and... AND we have snow on the ground that is going to turn to ice AND we have another winter storm on the way with wind gusts predicted to 90mph which means we will likely be without power next week. For Christmas.
I do not want to HEAR about your 53 degree problems.
But I love you even if you are a crazy Californian.

Also, you never have cold, sunny days there? That seems so weird to me. *g*

As for where I live specifically, we're about the same as you I think, in the 10 C (50 F?), and it actually feels like it's hot. Go figure.

What people forget about when they mock us for being whiney Californians is that we don't really know how to dress for a regular work day when it's cold. Our defaults are:
1. it's below 60F, I'd better wear a long scarf with my hoodie, shorts and flipflops, or
2. Dude, dress for a day of snowboarding. in a blizzard.
Hm. On second thought, mock away.

[eyes my own current hoodie]
Um...yeah. Probably for the best.

This morning it was -25C, with a windchill of hell frozen over. Bright, sunny, hazy, the buses were 5-10 minutes late. It was fun. =D

That's like an 'I don't think I need a jumer under my jacket' day! Or an 'I don't need to wear two fleeces under my two duvets and a blanket' night...
:-P
