What is this under the cheese madness? That's the pizza topping location of rogues and liars who want to hide from me the disgusting things that they are trying to sneakily get me to eat on a pizza.
BWAH!!!!
There's one pizza place in town that does the toppings under the cheese and it's quite yummy, but most places I know of do it on top. The really strange thing is that whenever *I* make pizza at home, for some reason I put them under the cheese and I'm not quite sure why.
Long story short, I was thinking about making Hawaiian pizza tomorrow for the inauguration, and started thinking about it.

If they were supposed to go under the cheese, they wouldn't be called TOPPINGS.
But they're still on top of the crust! :D
It's sort of good that way. The onions and meat mix with the sauce...
It depends! If it's stuffed pizza, totally under the cheese. If it's regular pizza, on top of it.
I don't think I've ever had stuffed pizza. I think I want some.
I answered under the cheese, but the place I go to the most sort of mixes it up; they're on top of *and* under the cheese. It's perfect that way. Mmmmm. Piiiiiiiiza.
Oooh, everything's covered that way!
I went with under the cheese, never mind that it's called topping. I need my pizza to drown in cheese and it needs to be on top of everything else.
I do like lots and lots of cheese. The place in town that does do it under the cheese does LOTS of cheese.
Wow. I'm so torn.
In Montreal, toppings were always under the cheese, which I found annoying. However, I have had some truly EXCELLENT pizza in Montreal. And it is Montreal where all things are better.
Then again, toppings under the cheese IS really strange so I DON'T KNOW.
Why are there only two options? *freaks out*

I disagree with the 'Montreal, where are things are better' statement. Quebec City totally kicks Montreal's ass on the food and awesome restaurants department (as well as many other departments *whistles innocently*)
I couldn't vote. There was no "both" option. I generally put down a layer of cheese, then a layer of all the other toppings (thus, on top of the cheese) and finally another layer of cheese (thus, under the cheese).
;)
;)
Have your cake and eat it too! Or pizza, in this case. :D
If I buy pizza, then on top, so I can SEE IT and it can't SNEAK UP ON ME. *Is fussy*
If I make pizza then I usually put cheese on, then toppings, then more cheese. Because I like cheese.

Watch out for stealth!pizza!

Although you could still put on lots of cheese doing it the other way, right?

I picked on top of the cheese but hell it's pizza. I'll eat it any old way. XD
I always dig my way through my pizza - one topping at a time, then the cheese, then the meat, then the crust. Toppings under the cheese fuck up my entire system (plus, they're called TOPpings.)
That's a very interesting way to eat pizza. :D
Under has the advantage of keeping mushrooms from drying out and pepperonis from getting crispy. However, it still seems wrong, no matter how delicious. My mom tried to convert us to under-cheese toppings in the early 90s, but as soon as I left home, I switched back. My original religion and all.
That *is* an advantage. Everything sort of steams with the sauce. Although I'll say that I actually like crispy pepperoni.
Middle of the cheese! I do a nice layer of cheese, then toppings, then a lighter layer of cheese.
I put 'under' but to be honest it depends a bit on what the topping is - wide, flat things (e.g. pepperoni, slices of tomato) belong on top, but smaller, lumpy toppings (e.g. chicken) need to be covered in cheese a bit to stop them from falling off.
To be honest the best way is what my favourite pizza place does (because my taste is impeccable, obviously):
- spread tomatoey stuff on base
- sprinkle on some cheese
- put on requested toppings
- sprinkle on more cheese
...dammit, now I'm really craving Empire Pizza. :(

YUM!!! And that's a good strategy.
Dude - what is with this harsh black or white system? It totally depends on the topping!
Pepperoni, large green peppers, ham pieces, tomatoes, bacon pieces, pinapple = top.
Onions, tiny mushrooms, ground beef, bacon bits = under.

That seems like a great way to go!
Oh dear, did you get a fail!pizza?
No, I'm contemplating making pizza tomorrow, and was pondering the whole thing. :D
That seems to be an option many are taking.
I say both, which is why I like to order extra cheese because it goes on last and covers everything up.
People put toppings under the cheese??
(Have not read the other comments, so it's entirely possible - in fact, quite likely - that I'm repeating every. single. one. XD)

Yeah, I've actually had pizza from a pizza place that way. It's pretty good.
Why are these not ticky boxes?
After all, what is wrong with cheese both under and over the toppings.
There is never too much cheese.
However, if one is forced to choose the cheese must be under the toppings, so that both the dough and the toppings are blessed with the cheese.

I never considered that option! Clearly I've been living in a black and white pizza world!
on top. duh. When they put it under, it's harder to pick off all the stuff you don't want.
Wellllll...I pretty much only eat cheese pizza :)
And the sauce probably goes under that... :D
Layered - Cheese, toppings, more cheese, more toppings :)
One can never have too much cheese ... or toppings.
Ah, how I miss Round Table Pizza.

Oooh, Round Table! I haven't had that in ages!
.....
It goes under the cheese, Merv. >.>;
That's the way I've always seen pizza.
*scratches head*

I'll say I've had and liked it both ways.
Anyone who has toppings under the cheese is WRONG and MISGUIDED.
