I happened to sit through a S1 episode of ST: TNG the other day - I have no idea why. It was the "Justice" episode. The one where Wesley trips over a plant and gets sentenced to death.

You know, the Prime Directive sort of blows.

Have you ever read Wil Wheaton's review of this episode? If not, you must.

That sounds *vaguely* familiar, but it's been a while. You wouldn't happen to have a link, would you?

*snrk* Oh Wesley. ♥

I'm pretty sure I had a crush on him back in the day. :D

I must be the only girl that never really did.

Of course, I grew up watching about three different Star Treks (it was a good period for the franchise). Dad watched TNG re-runs, DS9, and I watched Voyager after school. I think I had a bigger crush on Tom Paris than anyone else, to be honest...

You're not alone. I ADORE Wil Wheaton, but he's always been a "pinch cheeks cute" to me.

Alexander Siddig, now, THAT is another story. *loves DS9 liek whoa*

(And that icon is WIN.)

I loved my TNG. All the people in our group this Fall were all squee David Tennant, I was like screw that freaking Jean-Luc Picard. I went to a play with Marina Sirtis (Deanna Troi) many years ago and there was a Q&A afterward. It was Neil Simon 's The Plaza Suite. It was a big deal as there was word that Neil Simon had attended one of the performances. All the people in the Q&A were talking about the play and Simon etc., and I was the only dork saying I loved you on Star Trek will there be another movie soon...I hope Riker and Troi get back together.

Heh heh. And they did get together in the end, didn't they? I thought I remembered them getting engaged or something. (I haven't seen all the movies.)

Yes they got married in the last movie. LOL it made the plot worth it. Heh.

I was sitting there, scratching my head and wondering why an advanced society would, in every circumstance, immediately yield to every other society. Simply by the fact that it's another society, and regardless of the pros and cons of that society. Does not compute.

Oh man, that ep sucked so much ass. It should def be up for the Agony Booth's "Worst of Trek" series.

I love TNG sfm, even the shitty eps. ♥

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2009-02-19 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It definitely was one of the bad ones. Just so silly.

[identity profile] deepdarkness.livejournal.com 2009-02-20 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
I think I've only managed to sit through one TNG episode, and it was only because it was a giant reference to "The Naked Time" and I was waiting for some OS references. Then again, I've only got into Trek recently due to the Who shortage. However, I still find OS better. I can stare at Spock that way, and laugh at the really, really bad sets and costumes.

I will say one thing about TNG, though. Someone really, really needs to go up to Wesley and ruffle that kids hair. Seriously.

I'm picturing someone's fingers getting stuck trying to do that. :D
