Those asses!

So apparently the Futurama cast has been dis-invited from the ComicCon panel. They aren't being barred completely, and will be around to sign autographs, but they can't be part of the panel.

2CFox SUCKS DONKEY BALLS! This is unbelievable! Sure I'm not going to ComicCon, but this whole salary negotiation thing is getting seriously ugly. And the ugly is all 2CFox.

I hope Phil (and any of the other cast that's there) just go to the panel. I could seriously see lap-sitting on stage. It's that sort of a group.

Now if you want to talk about a panel where it might be appropriate to send a message to TPTB, this would be it. Not anyone making a stink, mind. Just not showing up at all, and going to camp out for autographs instead.

The actors should totally get to hold a guerilla panel, but I can see where that would have the potential to get hairy very quickly.

That would be awesome! But just from seeing videos of the size of the crowd at the panel last year, I doubt they could go somewhere else.

I have the feeling people will be going to the regular panel though, since all this stuff just started happening and people want to find out what the hell is going on.

If they're not prescreening questions, I'm guessing that they're going to get a fair number of completely ingenuous questions from people who aren't in the know and really are outright confuzzled as to why all of the actors have been removed from the panel.

What would serve Fox right is if that question gets asked, they even try to pussyfoot around it, and everyone gets up and leaves. Or there's an immediate followup question of 'so why don't you stop being cheapskates and just pay people what they're worth'?

Yeah, you've brought up a good point. If they're kicking the actors off (presumably so they don't say anything), the panel will probably be heavily moderated.

Oh Brother!

Someone need to send Fox, the book "how to win friends and influence people", cos their doing it wrong!

No kidding! If there was a way to buy Futurama stuff without Fox getting anything, I would.

Wow. This sounds like a case of TPTB forgetting who the con is for (not them) and who, you know, watches the show.

No kidding! RAWR!

I'm not even a Futurama fan and I'm furious at Fox's behavior over this. It's gone beyond appalling into just plain obscene.

[identity profile] mrv3000.livejournal.com 2009-07-23 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hasn't it? And seriously, you couldn't find a group of writers and actors that love the show as much as them. (Okay, maybe DT out-fanboys them.)

What. The. Fark.

O_o

Well... this is FOX we're talking about but still... what are they thinking?! They're suppose to use Comic Con as a way to reward/gain fans. *sighs*

Biggest idiots on the planet. Yeah, do something like this in front of the *hard core* fans. The ones that bring in the consistent money.
