My Shiny

The laptop update ended up taking about 3 hours, but in spite of that, I LOVE WINDOWS 7! "Oh, you want this? *BAM* Here you go. Yes, I am awesome. Thanks for noticing." Plus, it's pretty. :D Also, do all touchpads have a wheel function off to the side? Not a physical wheel, but a touch wheel. Also awesome.

I've barely scratched the surface with customizing it yet, but the nice thing with the default settings of W7 is that I don't feel the burning need of "THIS THING MUST BE CHANGED RIGHT NOW" with anything.

Also nice, my laptop has a web option where I don't need to start Windows - I can just access the web in seconds from a turned off computer. Handy if I need something right now, but I imagine most times I'll be starting up Windows. I like Firefox too much.

XD Well, for one thing the wireless setup was beyond simple. I didn't even need to tell it I wanted to do it. Just had to plug in the key and off I went.

XD I think I'm getting Windows 7 for Christmas. *rubs hands together*

Oh! And the rectangle boxes at the bottom showing what you have open are gone. There are now buttons. Makes it look clean.

[identity profile] goldy-dollar.livejournal.com 2009-12-16 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
OH REALLY? Man, that would be AWESOME. It bothers me that the boxes take up so much room. It's always like "pfft, google would solve this problem in seconds."

Also, it's just one button per application, but when you mouse-over, all the windows pop up for you to choose. It's hard to explain, but I like it.

I WAAAAANT.

Man, I really hope that Windows 7 works on my netbook. Having to go back to XP on it makes me nutty. It's so slow.

You can get the Internet without waiting for Windows to boot?!

That... that has to be done with magic, right?

(I have no icon that appropriately expresses my shock/awe, so have some ponies and applesauce.)

XD It is really snifty! I forget what the browser is called - it's not IE, Firefox or Chrome. But it's really zippy!

New operating systems are always shiney. So much to learn...

As I am unexpectedly in the market for a new laptop, I am enjoying every update about your shiny new friend. I am super intrigued with the easy access Internet.

It's very cool! There's a "web" button above the keyboard. If I press it when the computer's off, it quickly launches a browser. It looks a bit like Firefox, only it's not. Only thing is I'm not quite sure if my security software covers things if Windows hasn't been launched. Hmmm. And also I have quite a few add-ons on Firefox, like ad blocker, so most times I imagine I'll just launch Windows. However, I have to say that browsing did seem to be faster in non-Windows mode.
