How can you not love an episode that opens with them talking about going to a concert? It's sort of historical, but mainly it's a DATE. :D
(I still have no idea why Rose was carting around her bag in the console room, which almost made it seem like she changed right there. [insert standard innuendo])



As if they weren't adorable enough, they dance around the console. XD



I love how this shot duplicates the one in "The Unquiet Dead." Yes, they were that spastic back then.



The Muppets really do deserve a bouncy shout-out. :D



I'm sure you have been chasing this wee naked child timorous beastie over hill and over dale, Doctor. *snorts*




"We hope you've enjoyed the comedy stylings of the Doctor and Rose! We'll be here all week!"



One thing that I LOVE about Rose's character is that she's just as much of an adventure hound as the Doctor. She zipped off at the same time he did, and not because she's following him around.



They aren't even looking at each other right now, but are in their own little "OOH, SHINY!" worlds.




"Am I being rude again?" "Yup." XD XD




And then Rose has her own little rude moment... This episode really highlighted the Doctor and Rose's similarities.




You know, they may as well both get inside that coat...



I'm sad we didn't see Rose in this dress. Boo.



Don't get between the Doctor and Rose, because things tend to get shouty.



The thing about Rose is that even though she wanders off and gets herself into trouble, she's the self-rescuing princess type. In other words, she doesn't sit around and wait for the Doctor to rescue her.



Rose: Where the hell have you been?!
Doctor: Erm...eating ham?
Rose: SO USELESS.
Doctor: OOOH, WEREWOLF!!!
Rose: *sighs*



I love when they snip at each other. XD



Who says they weren't horrified and scared? This is hardly sitting back and munching popcorn.





But in spite of all the danger, they can step back from it with a "HOLY CRAP, WEREWOLF!" This is another instance of them being so very much alike. In fact, I'm pretty sure the Doctor goes over to hug Rose because in that moment he realizes they are alike.

I tend to get a bit defensive about Tooth & Claw. The Doctor and Rose (mainly Rose) tend to get ripped for this moment. The thing is, the Doctor has been far more oblivious and rude in just as dire of situations. However, he's always gotten a pass because he's the Doctor. So often what I get from the ripping is that it's Rose who is not allowed to be like the Doctor, and she really needs to learn her place. So...yeah. I get defensive.



Okay, there they were being rude. :D
(Both of them were being rude, but there again it seems like Rose gets shredded and the Doctor gets a pass from fandom. DO NOT GET ME STARTED.)

HEEEEE! In classic Who there's a time or two when the Doctor gets knighted by some royal-type person. I love that here he's not knighted alone.



So the Queen banished them for being rude. That's it. The Doctor's expression says it all. I'm glad I don't live in ye olden days. (Or can the Queen still do that? OMG. What if I visit England someday and make a joke AND I GET BANISHED??)

And I like to think there's a bit of comfort in the hug as well as the squee. Rose was just nearly eaten, so it sort of seems reasonable that she'd brush that off but that they'd both want squishytimes.

I've always questioned, how much of this was "dismissal of danger" and how much of it was, well, Victorian repression. I mean this is an unmarried couple in questionable cothing clearly showing affection for each other out in the open. I mean the whole era is known for it's delicate sensiblities and this is the woman it's named after.

And you just know the Doctor wiggled his way out of paying Rose.

and this may very well be my favourite episode. I like how they're still in their honeymoon phase, how little angst there is, how happy and flirty and silly and rude they both are.

the Doctor and Rose do not need an excuse to hug. the could do it for 45 mts and it'd be the best episode ever.

A shared love of adventure in their own little world... this is how I saw T&C. They're so adorable and so attuned to each other and, both live in that ONE impenetrable personal bubble nobody can touch. I don't think even Donna can comprehend how deep that relationship was even after the metacrisis.

I don't know if I'm reading too much D/R fic (ahahahahahaha!!), but it makes me think they view their relationship (whatever they are to each other) as something sacred and only theirs, hence, the hissy fit of School Reunion.

I could see that. I think Donna understood it as well as anyone, but it's hard to completely understand something unless you're a part of it.

I could also see that. During their separation, it's something the Doctor doesn't really talk about, but yet you can see it's affecting him. He had that same closed-lipped attitude about the Time War. It's something important and doesn't get shared.

They were being somewhat flip, yes, and sort of goaded one another into even less reverence, but to say they caused Torchwood... how, exactly, did the sans-Doctor-and-Rose Pete's World end up with a virtually identical Torchwood Institute themselves if that were the case?

And I like this notion as far as altverse Torchwood goes: Since there was no Doctor and Rose in the altverse, the Queen got fully werewolfized at the Torchwood Estate. Unfortunately for werewolf!Queen (who did give her kids a quick nip), people kind of noticed she was a werewolf, and they were taken down. It's what ended the monarchy in the altverse. Torchwood was created out of that event, also to protect against weird dangers.

So Torchwood was created with or without the Doctor and Rose, just in the altverse a lot more lives were lost.
