Couple of very general thoughts after watching the first two episodes of Legend of the Seeker:

1) It's better than I thought it was going to be. Yes, yes, there are some very bad CGI monsters in it (really really bad), but the show's not really tried to be campy so far. I'm glad for that since Robin Hood semi-attempted it, and I think kind of failed at it.

2) Not really hooked yet. I think I'll have to spread it out instead of marathonning it. Towards the end of the second episode I was ready for it to be over. Had enough LotS for one day.

I pretty much had to spend a weekend with some vodka and giggle incessantly at Craig Parker to make it work. And then I made a list of Rules of Epic Fantasy and invented a drinking game. And then there were a few episodes that nearly killed me. And then it became kind of fun. But season two was MADE OF AWKWARD in the opening 30 seconds and I haven't got over it yet and pushed on through.

The premiere movie/first 2 episodes was enough to make me need a break but then I gave it a go a day or two later and it was so much more entertaining to me. Granted I was still squicked out by NudeZedd.

Okay - important warning - up to episode 8, it's kind of painful. I mean, it's not amazing or anything and the plots are a bit blah.

But then... episode 8. And it starts being AMAZING and will have you hooked before you know it. And then the second half of season 1? You'll go through them like whoa, and then the second season is ever better.

I've been thinking about it and so far it's been fairly generic. The dialog especially. It gets the job done, but not much more.

Man, it took me three days to watch the pilot. That episode just went on *forever*.

Let me know when you get to episode 8! That's when I started getting into it. XD

It took until almost the end of the first season to really get into LotS. And it helped that I was so used to DW's bad CG :)

I found the pilot pretty horrible due to the pacing issues. They're basically squeezing one book into however many minutes the pilot is, and you can tell. It picks up, though. :)

Yeah, episode 8 rocks and will get you hooked. It does take time to get into it but the later half of the season is pure win. And season 2 is even better:)

I keep hearing about this incredible episode 8! Obviously it made an impression on everyone!
