Yeah, that was my question too. yikes. And at Cornell, no less. I thought things like this only took place at formerly A&M, land grant universities like my alma mater.
And mutilating this cow in the name of science so students learn....what? Perhaps the vet could put a fistula in his own stomach so the students could compare. Oh...no, that would be inhumane to ask someone to do that!
We have an annual Veterinary Medicine open-house here at the University of Illinois. Which means the public gets to see, touch, and violate a holey cow.
