So they finally called in the Ghostbusters, who are now apparently working for the Big Bad Drug Company. (Needs must.) Winston calls some guy in China to investigate something mysterious that is totally in China near the lanterns. So guy in China sees the mysterious something (but refuses to show the audience) and decides to "kill" himself by jumping off a 45 story building. Really, the first 5 minutes of this episode were about as clear as Cyberwoman.
This was an episode that showed off all the middlemen - all the people who just follow orders. Also that the heroes and villains aren't always so easily defined. Out of all the speechifying going on, Gwen's was the best.
But Jack does take time out to flirt with a random maitre d. I like to think that the Time Agency has a site called LOLJACK, filled with moments like these.
Esther channels her ability to kick ass! (Well, technically kick stomach and then strangle a guy.) He's the bastard that killed Dr. Vera, so he totally deserves the wrath of Esther.
The evil Vera-killing bastard (after rising from the dead) is eventually taken down by the not-so-random guard whose line made me laugh out loud. "This has GOT to stop!" Just the way he said it made me imagine hordes of fans going after RTD and his ever-flowing angst.
Okay, I have SERIOUSLY no idea where Gwen got the motorcycle or why there was a cache of C-4 at the medical base, BUT IT'S STILL AWESOME.
And then everything changes after the all-powerful bad guys kidnap Gwen's family. Sorry, Jack. You're so getting traded in.
Since the Big Bad wants Jack, it's probably not a stretch to think that it's because of something Jack's done in the past. Probably something that's on LOLJACK.
