I'm subscribed to way too many WIPs on AO3. Well, that's not the problem. The problem is that many of them have summaries that sound pretty much the same, and I can never remember which story this is. If I was able to customize the world, I'd get summaries like "the one where John falls in the mud and pets a hamster" or "the one where Sherlock puts his feet on John's face and it was funny."
Speaking of, I'm curious about fandom's insistence that John luuuuuuurves Bond movies. Did he mention it once on the show? (I can't recall.) Or is it just that it's British and manly and so he obviously loves it? I swear every other fic talks about John's love of Bond.
I'm now wondering what would happen if you threw the Doctor into the Hunger Games. I'm guessing he'd stand up on the cornucopia and give a speech. However he'd burn through a few regenerations as people repeatedly speared him. (It really is a wonder that the Doctor doesn't get at least hurt more often.)
And since I did this on tumblr, go ahead and ask me anything about my OTPs.
ETA: Ugh. I still loathe essays on AO3. If you feel the need to blather, get a blog!

The meta on AO3 just seems like "LOOK AT ME TALK AND THEN KUDOS ME FOR IT." Bah. Like you said, find a platform for this other than AO3 or tumblr.

And the eye thing bugs the crap out of me! BC's eyes have always looked the same to me. They're never magically changing colors or anything. (Green? Where do people see green? And gold? What?) The only times his eyes look different is when photoshop has been involved.

Oh, and another thing that sort of bugs is when John and/or Sherlock get de-aged in a fic. (Excluding fics that take place in the past or AUs, obviously.) I'm sorry their incredibly advanced age isn't as sexy as if they're 20-somethings. BC is 36 and MF is 41. DEAL WITH IT.

OH! And Rupert Graves is 49! There is NO WAY IN HELL HE IS "PUSHING 40."

I was actually surprised he wasn't 50 yet. I'm glad I looked it up! I would have guessed him to be early 50s.

I saw a Hunger Games AU once where Ten and Rose like, met in the arena and w/e and it was HILARIOUS to me -- like, just, LOL, ugh teenage Ten in the Hunger Games is about the funniest thing I can imagine. He'd be so gawky and awkward as a teenager PLUS his personality is just -- ugh, funniest tribute ever.

Anyway, Ten? he'd get speared in the eye while giving a speech about overthrowing the system. Nine might last a little longer but I don't know that he'd have it in him to win. Eleven would presumably have no compunction about killing kids to survive but he would probably fall on a landmine.

Hahahahahaha the cracking voice. UGH IT'D BE SO FUNNY. I'm pretty sure in this fic Rose decided to sleep with him or w/e with the intention to kill him in the morning. I dunno if she did or not, I don't remember if the fic covered that. I hope she did because LOL.

IMO Nine wouldn't last long (coward, any day), Ten would last a bit longer but ANGST HEAVILY. Now, Eleven might even reach the finale but IDK if he'd win - a future!Eleven would probably appear out of thin air and solve the situation somehow (possibly using robots) making the whole thing that happened up to that point... pointless. But what the hell. River is involved somehow... because why not. XD

One of the best Gossip Girl fics I ever read was a Hunger Games AU! FOR REAL. And it's not just because everyone died okay; it just weirdly worked.

Sherlock fic AND cats is not as big a draw as you would think.

Depends on who exactly is in the game, but I'd say Sherlock has a good chance. Probably? I mean, he spots everything instantly, knows all kinds of hand-to-hand combat, can survive on little food, and has zero issues/guilt in killing someone.

Dang. Now I think I need Hunger Games AU fic. But only if they live. XD
