I actually really liked this ep! The end with the whole retro Frankenstein lab was super cool! I also love that they never actually said the word "Frankenstein" and only said "Victor" once at the end. I also liked the whole thing about something being stronger than magic, and everyone was all confused by what that could be. And at the very end the stronger-than-magic thing is named as SCIENCE. It was all rather nifty.
This kind of writing is what made Lost sharp on occasion. (Looking the writers up for this ep, they did pen some of my favorite Lost episodes, so I probably shouldn't be surprised that I really liked this as well.)
With Regina having to kill Daniel (aka the Monster) this time around, maybe she'll finally be able to let go of the past. Neat little connection there to Regina actually being Rumpelstiltskin's "Monster" that he created. I thought they were just doing the flashback because of the Daniel thing, but it was actually another little angle. (Again, the writing in this ep was on point.)
We got some Snow-Emma interaction! Very little interaction, but I crave it at all times. :D
And Hook's back in the picture, which surprised me a bit. Looks like he'll be a regular, and it wouldn't surprise me if they go down the Emma/Hook road a bit. Just a bit though - I sort of have a hard time picturing Emma falling for him in any serious way.

I agree that it being science was cool.

Of course at that point I was drooling over the set, so...

And I have no idea where August is. Does the actor have another show or something?

I missed a bit about Hook because of storm updates so I'm not sure how he encountered Emma and co. (hulu it tomorrow), but I did hear that the actor was going to be a regular. Could see the Emma/Hook stuff creep up surely, though there are SO MANY OPTIONS for her at this point if she's interested, so who knows.

Hook is pretty well set up to be the bad boy love interest if they want to go that route, but I'd have a hard time thinking Emma trusts him. At least right now.
