I think I need to flounce from OUAT. So far this season it's had only one good ep - the one with Regina and Tinkerbell. The rest have been mediocre at best, and I don't know what the hell happened to their CGI budget. The Neverland plot is super annoying, and I want to kill Emma's love triangle story with fire and knives.
The thing that makes it even more super annoying is tumblr - I should just never ever ever wander into the tag. It's mostly fawning over Hook and/or Peter Pan - two characters I also want to kill with fire and knives. UGH.
I am seriously not surprised that the show is now only pulling 7 million as compared to the 11 million it was doing in S1 and the beginning of S2. (Ratings starting to tank with the introduction of Hook. Coincidence? I'll say not because I really hate Hook.)
In better news, have you seen the new promo pic for Sherlock S3? Because it looks like John/Sherlock fanart. Between this and the lens flair DW pics, you are so awesome, BBC promo dept. XD
- The Veronica Mars movie looks good!
- Catching Fire looks good!
- Matt Smith is capable of being a gross dudebro.
- Shippers are predictable when TPTB say that a fanon ship has no basis in reality. (HOW VERY DARE YOU. YOU'VE DISRESPECTED US. YOU'RE SO HOMOPHOBIC.)
- But casts can be super adorable.

Mar. 20th, 2013 12:25 pm- A hummingbird has finally found my feeder. It's the type that suction cups to a window, and is under an overhang, so it was a bit hidden. But yesterday when I was out on the patio suddenly there was a ZOOM past my head. And then another ZOOM. So I stood in the corner and the hummingbird just hovered about two feet away and eyed me. I HAVE BEEN WARNED. XD
Hummingbirds are the tiny tyrants of the bird world. - ( Speculation about a character in Once Upon a Time. )
- This past weekend I watched Bomb Girls. I really liked it! The main characters (all women) are fairly complex. There are things to both love and hate about each one. It's kind of awesome. :D Good job on getting S1, Netflix! It would be even more lovely if Hulu got the rights to air current eps instead of just on ReelzChannel. I'd never even heard of RealzChannel until 30 seconds ago when I looked up where the show was airing.
An odd thing about the show is that I could swear I've seen the actresses in other things before. But when I looked them all up, I'd seen nothing anyone was in. (Except Meg Tilly.) Maybe Canadians just have familiar faces? :D
- Maybe I should rewatch Game of Thrones before it starts airing. I can't really remember where it left off, nor am I as motivated to watch it. (Out of sight, out of mind.) Joffrey was being a little shit? (That's like everything though.) There was a smoke baby? (LOL.) I probably should watch it again since there's no way I'll ever remember who was who. (I have enough trouble as it is.)
- Why did they discontinue Dove Truffle Eggs? THEY WERE THE BEST EVER. Woe.

Canon = what actually happens on screen. NOT what you think happened based on the way someone blinked or turned or twitched a finger or whatever, but what's actually there. Once Upon a Time fandom seems to have missed this memo.

"Emma/Hook is canon." NOPE.
"Emma/Jefferson is canon." NOPE.
"Emma/Neal is canon." ONLY IN THE PAST.
Flirting =/= a canon relationship. Breathing the same air =/= a canon relationship. Mentioning the other person's name =/= a canon relationship.

However, I couldn't help but seek out and lurk around the most extreme Ianto fans. Apparently I enjoy a daily dose of bafflement, and for some reason like looking at my screen while thinking "how are you the way you are???"
I'm fully aware of the fact that people have potentially done the same to me over the years. Remember when I dumped all my Doctor Who icons due to outrage over Doomsday? OMG DRAMA.
Now I seem to have found a replacement for the die-hard Ianto fans: Hook fans (Once Upon a Time). More specifically, Hook fans who think he's currently in desparate soulmate love with Emma/Aurora/Belle/Regina/Cora/Pongo. (BUT? WHEN? WHERE ARE YOU GETTING THE EPSIODES THAT AREN'T AIRING? HOW ARE YOU THE WAY YOU ARE???) Shipping Hook is SERIOUS BUSINESS in a way that I haven't found much in other ships of this show.

I ship the Charming family in the sense that I want them to sit around and have lots of family dinners together. Once Upon a Time fandom on tumblr is a bit loopy to say the least. The majority of it involves explaining why a person's ship is totally canon, even if it's not remotely canon (or even if it's already canon.) CANON is a very big thing in OUaT Tumblr fandom. It's like...The Prize. And I've seen this for every single ship imaginable.
The entertainment part comes in when people take enormous leaps to get to this "canon" proof of a ship. Like...
**I really did run across someone saying pretty much this. Which means that John/Sherlock IS TOTALLY CANON. \o/ I fully expect S3 to have Johnlock babies, and if they don't, TPTB TOTALLY LED US ASTRAY BECAUSE OF ALL THE JOHNLOCK THEY WEREN'T SAYING ON THE SHOW. DAMN YOU, MOFFAT. WHY DO YOU HATE THE MPREG?
