It's been a pretty amusing 24 hours.

First, there was fic. And it was bad. And lo, Julie's head exploded, wet-cat-style.

Then came the author's reply that if she received bad reviews, it meant that the fic must actually be good and deep. And it was weird. And lo, Karen's head exploded, Pooh-style.

ETA: And Hya's head exploded, Jack/Thor-style.

EETA: Okay, so Lyssie's head might have been the first to go and also Matt... Wow, I really suck at keeping track of my flist. But still -

Well, we don't have Jack Bauer running around trying to save the president, but there sure is a lot of brain matter everywhere.

Wow, I've been really catty this past week. I'll blame josephides (since she left on vacation without saying goodbye. Frickin' wienerdog.)

My very mature reaction: Oh my god. Ewwwwwwwww.

I'm sorry, but that is just one thing I can't tolerate in fics. Any fics, any show, any ship, etc. etc. Non-con always freaked me out way more thank any other "kink". And I frankly find it beyond disturbing that some people enjoy reading it and think that it can ever be construed to be loving in any way, shape or form.

Just. Ew.

Yeah, I'm so with you. This particular "kink" disturbs me greatly. I try not to let it get to me these days and my defense is humor.

Yes, people are free to write whatever they want, including this. But that doesn't mean I have to like it, appreciate it or respect it. In fact, I'm pretty sure that same free speech gives me the right to mock it.
