Yeesh. Glad they caught those people in London. Woke up to NPR talking about red terror alerts and it was like, what what? :(
And in other news, Doctor Who keeps going to hell in a handbasket. They just *really* do not want me to watch S3 at all, don't they? They're doing a very good job.

So the Doctor has a son. That he has to find.
Oh sweet merciful GOD. Do they not know that child plots (okay, his child could be 500, but still) NEVER work? I mean, NEVER.
NEVER.
You name me ONE time.
"Hey, guess what, Luke? You have a daughter that we're bringing on the show!"
Sound familiar?
*cough*
The more I read, the more I'm tempted to take 2005/2006 and RUN LIKE HELL.

I'd rather wait and hear this from the Beeb, instead of some entertainment magazine. Let's not place too much stock in this until it is confirmed/denied.
But I mean, come on -- he had a granddaughter when Doc Who started back in 1963. How d'ya suppose that happened without a son/daughter and in laws, eh? XD;

I wonder if they'd come out with something like that though since it's more of a plotline.

Oh, I totally pictured him with a wife, children, grandchildren (i.e., Susan) but I guess I kinda assumed that if they were still living, they would have died in the Time War. Guess another assumption was that they were Gallifreyian. Otherwise they would be long dead anyway.

I hereby forbid you from looking at any spoilers for S3.
FORBID.

You are only going to work yourself up into a STATE.
Just walk away.
Walk. Away.
(Though not far away, because you are still totally in charge of ginger, no matter the size or the cracked out content of your tantrum.)

RTD has already hinted that the 13 reincarnations might not stick now that he's the last serviving (I can't spell today) timelord.
So yeah, not believing this one.

But it's *such* a jump-the-shark plot. It really is.

This is SO sketchy. As with the whole Rose-death thing, I will eat my hat if this turns out to be true and not just something made up to fill space.

(Mind you, I can't look at it without the mental image going on to the sublime combination of sheepish embarrassment and "gee, thanks a lot" that Sarah managed to cram into one look in response.)

Of course one of my first thoughts after hearing about this this morning was, "Oh, does this mean we're back to a level Pete?" ;)

And while I agree that Susan did call William Hartnell "grandfather", there was always some doubt as to whether it was a genuine biological relationship, or whether he was just an orphan that he had adopted. I certainly couldn't see him leaving a youngish female Time Lord floating around the universe the way he would any other companion. She also didn't seem to have anything like the level of technological experience of someone like Romana, who grew up on Gallifrey.
Oh well, I guess we'll see. If they want to turn this into a soap rather than a decent SciFi show, I'm sure the ratings will drop.

It would be interesting if they someday gave a bit of clarification on Susan. Although, I can't see that happening. I'm not sure I know how they parted ways.
And despite my rabid love of D/R ship, I *was* rather hoping for a break from any heavy character stuff with S3, and it being more a straight adventure show.

I try not to think about GG anymore. The show is pretty much dead to me now.
But your right a long lost child never works out on a primetime show.

I'll probably watch the first ep of the season just to see what they do with the train wreck of last season, but who knows if I'll stick it out.
