Did BSG just title an episode after the Cheers song?
The ending with Lee and Kara confused me to no end. You think Lee is moving on, but then he gives Kara The Angsty Look while hugging Dee. And he was telling Dee that he "loved" Kara? Dude, I'm not quite sure you can apply the past-tense to something when 30 minutes before you were talking about possibly leaving your wife and being scared the other woman was going to bail on you again. Because of that, I just can't buy Lee's sudden change of heart with Dee. Lee's a dick. At least Kara's being somewhat honest with Anders.
Hmm. It almost sounds like I *want* Kara and Lee to get together. Am actually rather indifferent, although if they did, it definitely wouldn't be this happy, rainbowy relationship like I think Lee thinks it would be. Kara's gonna mess up pretty much everyone she's with. Lee was right about one thing - Dee *is* good for him. A lot better for him than Kara will be. (Yeah, I think TPTB will still eventually go there.) And actually, come to think of it, I think Anders is better for Kara - he seems to have the unique ability to deal with Kara's shit.
Yeesh. I'm so glad I don't ship Lee/Kara or Lee/Dee or Kara/Anders. I'd be going mad.
But on to other things.
The scenes between Mary McDonnell, James Callis and Edward James Olmos were top-notch. Scenes like these are what make BSG the amazing show it is. And with writing like that, where they get to show off their acting chops, I can see why these people are more than pleased to stay on a sci-fi show. Shame the Emmys will never give this show or its actors its due, just because it *is* sci-fi. And sci-fi is weird or something.
The only thing I didn't really care for was the cut editing between Baltar and Lee. It was jarring and not quite sure why it was there since they didn't really seem to mirror each other.
Oh, and Gaeta? He's a cylon. Totally. Undoubtedly that's what Baltar whispered to him as well. He didn't come down to the cell to kill Baltar, he came to save him. *nods*

Lee is a dork and I hope Dee kicks him in the nuts soon.

And it would make sense with D'Anna when she said something like "I'm sorry. I didn't know." Didn't she try to kill him on New Caprica once?

I was totally waiting for it last night. For Dee to tell him "no" and walk away. WAITING, I tells you! Dang.

Dee should have just left, or set Lee on fire. That would have been cool too.
I don't get why Kara is interested in him at all because Anders is just way hotter.

Heh. True.

I'm not sure I get it at this point either. But I guess love is weird.

I had hoped she'd have the balls to do that too, but alas, no such luck. :(
Kara and Lee both need to stop screwing up other people's lives. And ya know what? I used to really like them, individually or together, and now, not so much. I just want to smack them both upside the head multiple times. *sigh*

Yup. It's starting to get to be Too Much Dwama. Bleh.

I got the Gaeta cylon vibe too. But I wonder if he knows he is one. Poor Gaeta. I hope this isn't his death knell. I actually enjoy the character of Baltar, but his story this season has me a bit confused. But I agree that the scenes between he, Adama nd Roslin were excellent. Actually the whole show was spot on emotion wise.
I am looking forward to seeing what happens with Sharon, Helo and Hera and with Six now being on board. I love that I love everything and everyone on this show. It makes it so much more enjoyable then say if I watched mostly for one aspect. Question. Did they decomission D'Anna's number? I thought I saw a scene like that but it is foggy.

but I a part of me still can't forgive her for the whole Billy thing.
What did she do to him again? I can't remember.
I also wonder if they were foreshadwoing some Chief/Cally/Boomer angst when Lee asked Chief if he ever thought about Sharon.
Hmm. Could be. Although that seemed more like they were trying to contrast the Chief and Cally's marriage to Lee and Dee's. Yeah, the Chief and Cally had a fight as all couples do, but he wasn't sitting around moping for Sharon, unlike Lee moping for Kara.

If he is, I'm thinking he's another Sharon-type. Where he has no clue.

Yeah, me too.

Yeah. Last episode. They shut her completely down at the end.

I used to like Kara, Lee, and Dee. You know, back in the first season. I never shipped them, but I liked their characters. Now, I hate them all, and Anders as well. I want them off my screen unless they're flying Vipers or in the CIC.
The Baltar plot had some excellent acting, but we still didn't really go anywhere or learn anything new. I'm looking forward to the trial.
Gaeta has to be a Cylon. Something is up with him, anyway.

Bwahahahahaha! I'm not sure I'd be sad if they had...
All this time spent on it, and we're back where we started? And we're undoubtedly going to spend more time on it later? Gaaaaah.
Right. There *seemed* like resolution, but at the very last second they were all back where they started. And I guess I can understand that something like this can't be wrapped up in a single episode, but still.

OMG. Kara and Lee used to be pilots, didn't they?! ;) Yeah, someone needs to shove them into cockpits already.

Nope, we didn't really get much. Baltar still maintains his innocence and I'm not sure if it's because he still sees himself as a victim, or if he's thinking he's God's chosen one and therefore is absolved due to some greater good.

Yeah. That he just happened to come running down to the cell when Baltar was hanging himself? That had to have been prompted.

Yeah, once upon a time... I think the Cylons need to attack. The chase was part of what made the first season so compelling; everyone's gotten complacent recently. I'm usually the last person arguing for space dogfights full of special effects, but good lord, we could use one now.

I hope they bring more of that out during the trial. Baltar being crazy on the stand is something I'm looking forward to. Especially since Caprica Six is going to be the "star witness" for the prosecution. *g*

Yeah. *sigh* Or even just...not a major plot point. I think I'd be fine with it if whole episodes didn't revolve around it.

This could be really good.

As for the Airlock-Bait Twins, I'm choosing to believe that the Angsty Look was actually each of them checking up on the other to make sure the other was okay while they were Rediscovering Teh Happy with their respective spouses.
I recognize that I'll probably have the freedom to believe this for, like, two weeks tops before TPTB frak it all up again. But I'm sticking to it while I can, dammit!

*nods* It's gotta be a Cheers reference, though. And it's very weird.

I can *almost* think that might have been a look of "you okay," but...not quite. I'm probably too cynical to think that this has been resolved. It'd be nice though.

Dammit, hit post too soon again!
Make sure to account for a healthy (I can't believe I just used that word about either of them!) dollop of guilt, and you might be able to swing it...

With Adama and Roslin, you mean? Looked like his place. And as long as no one calls them "mom and dad," they can shag like bunnies for all I care.
and then annoyed that the Six stuff didn't get played.
I know!
BECAUSE I LIVE NOT IN THE STATES AND THE WEBSITE HATES THAT.
:(
Of course, I never made it back onto the computer to watch it myself.

I totally do that sometimes. Usually when I am trying to be funny, but more often in relation to them and other characters. Like Lee does something stupid and then Mummy is angry with him. etc. I don't really do it that often because it is kind of...icky.

I think one of the reasons this felt like a "Mom and Dad" episode was that they were all "Let's interrogate the creepy man while the children are out playing". A similar theme ("Let's get cutely stoned while the children are all off frakking") worked well in...that boxing episode, but here it just felt like they took two unrelated plot lines and mashed them together.
no subject
Oh, I completely agree. And *really* mashed them together during the end with the quick cutting between Lee and Baltar. That still befuddles me.
