DW: Utopia
- I'd seen the very beginning already, due to JB showing it on some talk show. But can I just say that I'm thinking it'd be a bit nippy in the Time Vortex? Doesn't surprise me that he wasn't hurt though – weren't they chucking people into the Vortex in a Six ep?
- John's name on the credits! Awesome. :D
- O.M.G. THEY'RE IN A STONE QUARRY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
- Oh! *sobs* Jack was tearing up when he was talking about Rose. And then they hug about her (*very* Bad Wolf-like). Aaaand Martha just continues to bitch about Rose. Glad the Doctor finally told her and Jack to shut the hell up.
- Jack running: "Ohhhh, I miss this!" Yes, can Jack join back up permanently, please? Screw Torchwood.
- Wow! The Doctor's back to loving humans!
- Oh man, I *love* the dynamic between the Doctor and Jack! It's a bit like how they left off. The whole "stop it" every time Jack shakes someone's hand. And Jack telling the Doctor he's supposed to say "sorry." Tossing things to each other. LOOOOOOVE. Seriously, I want Jack, please.
- No, really. Screw Torchwood.
- "Why you taking your clothes off?!" ... "I look good."
- Really.
- Nice! Finally answers about what happened in TPotW. Rose didn't die because she was human – a Time Lord with that power would have been badness. And oh... Jack watched Rose growing up at the Powell Estate. *sobs* The Doctor saying he can't get to Rose. And you notice the word he used about her? "Trapped." Not "she's happily living her life." "She's trapped there." I think that's the way the Doctor's really been looking at it all along. :(
- Jack and the Doctor – two immortals bonding over seeing the humans at the end of the universe. Seeing that will has made Jack (and I'm fairly certain the Doctor's of the same mindset right here) question wanting to die.
- Were those audio clips of the Master from the classic series? Pretty sure they were, although I didn't recognize them off hand. AWESOME. Also, just how many times has the Master stolen the TARDIS in the classic series? *LOVES* I swear they were either stealing or ripping parts out of each other's TARDISes every other episode the Master was in.
- Okay, the Master has regenerated into a cracked-out squirrel. I highly approve. :D
- And on a final note, for some reason I'm just kinda twitchy about the fact that the Master heard Jack and the Doctor talking about Rose.
- Final, final note - no, really. Screw Torchwood and bring back Jack.
- ETA: Oh, the bad guys and the actual plot? Pffft. Very very small and light. Bad guys were ineffectually cheesy. BUT, this was one of those weird episode where plot seemed really secondary. And also, this is the first of a three-parter, so basically we got the setup this episode. The plot was pretty much there to give Jack and the Doctor to get a bit of hope back in their lives by seeing humans' will to survive.

It was?? Dang, guess I was just so gleeful to see the boy back that I missed the credits.
O.M.G. THEY'RE IN A STONE QUARRY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
BWAHAHAHAHA!!!
Oh! *sobs* Jack was tearing up when he was talking about Rose. And then they hug about her (*very* Bad Wolf-like).
*sniffles*
Aaaand Martha just continues to bitch about Rose. Glad the Doctor finally told her and Jack to shut the hell up.
*snicker* "You're...blogging!"

Hee! I loved that too. I could have watched those two boys banter for a whole ep on just about anything.
Seriously, I want Jack, please.
*dives into the gutter*
"Why you taking your clothes off?!" ... "I look good."
BWAH!! *pets Jack* And his, "Wait, was someone kissing me?" after Martha does mouth-to-mouth. *licks Jack*
Nice! Finally answers about what happened in TPotW.
Yeah, very nice. And everything made sense, in that Doctor Who sense kinda way. :D

That was *brilliant*. They're doing a petty running-commentary on the Doctor's life and...it *was* blogging. :D
Hee! I loved that too. I could have watched those two boys banter for a whole ep on just about anything.
YES. Seriously. Much, much love. I know this is going to be a three-part story and Jack doesn't rejoin the crew, but I want that so much.
BWAH!! *pets Jack* And his, "Wait, was someone kissing me?" after Martha does mouth-to-mouth. *licks Jack*
I know!
Yeah, very nice. And everything made sense, in that Doctor Who sense kinda way. :D
Uh huh. Need to tack on that addendum. :D Well, I've always had the theory that the Time Vortex didn't effect Rose for the reason the Gelth said in The Unquiet Dead, and...that's pretty close.
*sobs along with you, grabbing the tissues*
Get untrapped, Rose!
BWAHAHAHAHA!!! *licks him*
*licks you* :D
HA! It's Doctor Who party time! :D

Oh yes, I even liked Torchwood (mostly the stupid cheese didn't made me dislike it exactlyl) and I wholeheartedly agree. Jack belongs here, and the Doctor's good with a buddy. And oh god the pretty; I'm in pretty overload right now. And the fact that Martha is clearly not part of their club, but they instantly have a club again, Rose was always the linchpin on the TARDIS club, still is even.
for some reason I'm just kinda twitchy about the fact that the Master heard Jack and the Doctor talking about Rose.
Well twitchy in the fact that I'm sure it's going to cause the Doctor angst, but you know, it means more Rose mentions which will be good, I can't get enough Rose mentions.

They were just...two pretty boys! And they fell so quickly back into that familiar friendship! The banter! The teamwork! YAY!

Well, more twitchy in the fact that the Master knows about Rose at all. Not sure how much of that conversation he picked up, or if he could infer something about the importance of Rose to the Doctor, but the Master's life purpose is to make the Doctor suffer. Really, any way he can. Meep.

I keep using many exclamation points when talking to people. :D
I've never been a Jack fangirl, but I MISSED him. Or the teamwork. Or both.
I know. It was like YAY! (really, haven't been able to come up with much more than "yay" yet...)
And the Rose mentions!
I seriously loved that the Doctor said Rose was trapped. He'd said she was happy back to Martha, but none of that "she's fine and happy" crap here. He knew she wanted nothing but to stay with him - nothing else to her mattered - and so he finally admits that she's trapped.
I lurve RTD for the wonderful, beautiful character continuity he has given us all season. Even if it hurt.
I'm still eying him. And really have no desire to ever rewatch anything prior to Blink.

And B) I'm deeply, deeply worried about where that rocket was going. The entire thing screamed "TRAP!" to me. (Though, probably, we will never hear about it again and it really was some wonderful Utopia somewhere. Still! I'm suspicious and concerned.)

Mwah!

Me too! It's probably because of the whole tone of S3. "It's a trap and everyone will burst into flames!!!" But we'll probably never find out. Pretty sure the *hope* was what we were supposed to key in on, rather than salvation. Even hope where you just don't know if things ended up okay.

Even in season one they planned to eventually bring Jack back. They' seem to want to string various things together for continuity.

Wah.

Can I say, yet again, that I like that even 11 (well, really 12 with TRB) they're still having the Doctor grieve for Rose? He was in *love* with her. Deeply. You don't just get over that.

I saw the opening on the talk show as well. It made me hate Ten. Seriously *eyes him*, the lack-of-Rose is turning him into a
coughvengefulgodcoughvery bad man.Jack tearing up at Rose touched me in a way I didn't think he could (I wasn't that taken with him in s1. I love him to bits now [you see, Martha? "to bits" = the love I have for Jack])
The "tossing things to each other"... I remain firm in my belief that those were breadboards. Lovely camera work, whatever they were!
That whole "Do you want to die" stuf... gah... death!angst is really depressing. I mean, those who are immortal are bound to want to die (especially if human/human orientated) because it's human nature to want what one can't have. And conversations like that always bum me out o.O
Okay, the Master has regenerated into a cracked-out squirrel.
LMFAO!! Oh my God, that's the best description I've heard of John Simm yet. I have to add it to my team!TARDIS animal lot. I don't care if he's a villain 1. he's awesome 2. you are made of win at calling him a squirrel. I'll credit xD
And yes. He overheard them talking about Rose (and was probably quite aware of the angst there. Because he,
unlike half of the fandom, is not stupid.Screw Torchwood and bring back Jack.
Hmm. I loved his name on the credits. I could get very used to seeing him on opening titles: he wasn't even on those in s1, so obviously his return is a meajor feature in RTD's eyes.

coughvengefulgodcoughvery bad man.I was glad they explained why he did it though. I can totally buy how the Doctor couldn't even really look at Jack without his gut screaming "WRONG" and wanting to flee. And makes me understand the TPotW ditching as well.

I like that they both seemed to be on the same page about seeing humans at the end of the universe - it made them both question wanting to die. (Well, Jack said it, but I'm subtexting in the Doctor as well.)

HEE!! :D "Cracked-out squirrel" is my favored description of the Master in the classic series. He really WAS a cracked-out squirrel - frickin' insane! And so I completely approve of John Simms. :D

10) Screw Torchwood!
Re: Ten things about Utopia
3) Yes.
4) Yes.

6) Yes.
7) There were bad guys in this episode?
