DW: Utopia

  • I'd seen the very beginning already, due to JB showing it on some talk show. But can I just say that I'm thinking it'd be a bit nippy in the Time Vortex? Doesn't surprise me that he wasn't hurt though – weren't they chucking people into the Vortex in a Six ep?

  • John's name on the credits! Awesome. :D

  • O.M.G. THEY'RE IN A STONE QUARRY! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • Oh! *sobs* Jack was tearing up when he was talking about Rose. And then they hug about her (*very* Bad Wolf-like). Aaaand Martha just continues to bitch about Rose. Glad the Doctor finally told her and Jack to shut the hell up.

  • Jack running: "Ohhhh, I miss this!" Yes, can Jack join back up permanently, please? Screw Torchwood.

  • Wow! The Doctor's back to loving humans!

  • Oh man, I *love* the dynamic between the Doctor and Jack! It's a bit like how they left off. The whole "stop it" every time Jack shakes someone's hand. And Jack telling the Doctor he's supposed to say "sorry." Tossing things to each other. LOOOOOOVE. Seriously, I want Jack, please.

  • No, really. Screw Torchwood.

  • "Why you taking your clothes off?!" ... "I look good."

  • Really.

  • Nice! Finally answers about what happened in TPotW. Rose didn't die because she was human – a Time Lord with that power would have been badness. And oh... Jack watched Rose growing up at the Powell Estate. *sobs* The Doctor saying he can't get to Rose. And you notice the word he used about her? "Trapped." Not "she's happily living her life." "She's trapped there." I think that's the way the Doctor's really been looking at it all along. :(

  • Jack and the Doctor – two immortals bonding over seeing the humans at the end of the universe. Seeing that will has made Jack (and I'm fairly certain the Doctor's of the same mindset right here) question wanting to die.

  • Were those audio clips of the Master from the classic series? Pretty sure they were, although I didn't recognize them off hand. AWESOME. Also, just how many times has the Master stolen the TARDIS in the classic series? *LOVES* I swear they were either stealing or ripping parts out of each other's TARDISes every other episode the Master was in.

  • Okay, the Master has regenerated into a cracked-out squirrel. I highly approve. :D

  • And on a final note, for some reason I'm just kinda twitchy about the fact that the Master heard Jack and the Doctor talking about Rose.

  • Final, final note - no, really. Screw Torchwood and bring back Jack.

  • ETA: Oh, the bad guys and the actual plot? Pffft. Very very small and light. Bad guys were ineffectually cheesy. BUT, this was one of those weird episode where plot seemed really secondary. And also, this is the first of a three-parter, so basically we got the setup this episode. The plot was pretty much there to give Jack and the Doctor to get a bit of hope back in their lives by seeing humans' will to survive.

Oh, that 13 regenerations thing? I think that went the way of the Time Lords. 13 regeneration limit was set up by Rassilon and I kinda have gotten the impression that no more Time Lords and no more matrix means no more limit. (And I thought someone had thrown something to that effect that on some BBC Who page a while back - the Doctor could now go on forever.)

Or I could be making this all up - I do have weird dreams.

Someone told me we found out that he was done in "Keeper of Traken" and "Logopolis" in 1981. And he's stolen bodies to continue, but... hmmm.

Maybe being turned human reset him? Or... something with the Doctor's hand? :-/ Dunno.

The Master had been stealing bodies. Even in the 90s movie he stole a human's body.

But I think I'm gonna run with the 13 rule being blown out the water with no more Time Lords and no more matrix. The Doctor seemed fairly "I'm gonna live forever" in School Reunion. And with the 13 rule and him blowing through regenerations like kleenex, he'd be hitting 13 in 5 years. (Heh.)

And I say, the reason I read YOUR DW stuffs is because YOU are teh SMRT one, so what YOU say goes.

HA! *LOVES*

;)

BWAH! That's actually a bit scary. :D

[identity profile] ramdonomo.livejournal.com 2007-06-17 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
*snorfles*

And there I was, thinking, "Oooh, I think I know something- Yeah, no. Oops."

I was THISCLOSE to knowing something. Dammit. *HEE*

It's not scary. It's AWESOME. People (I mean, not ME, really) have lunch discussions for HOURS (not on Wednesdays or anything) on your DW meta. Or something. ;)

*have had.

Um...WOW!

Of course, now I'm quite tempted to write a huge long meta about the significance of cats and the color orange in Doctor Who. Just to mess with you. ;)
