It sometimes takes me a while...
Ianto: [on phone] Yes, I'd like a Pepperoni Feast and some coleslaw.
Me: Uh... Oh! Betcha a "Pepperoni Feast" is something like "Toad in a Hole in a Log Next to a Mushroom." The British are adorable.
[later on the show]
Pizza Girl: [arrives]
Me: [thinks nothing of it]
[a day later as David Johnson is babbling about the stock market and the banking scandal in France...]
Me: WAIT. PIZZA AND COLESLAW???
So. Is this a British thing? Or is Ianto off his nut?

My vote goes to it being a British thing. When I spent a few weeks over in Britain a couple of summers ago, I noticed that they serve coleslaw as a side to dishes WAY more than we do in the states.

It's not the only dubious side-dish that we Brit's apparently like with our pizza, some of it is mind boggling.

I think I'm afraid to ask.

(I mean, as normal as cabbage, vinegar, sugar, and mayonaise slopped together can. UGH.)

EEP! Although...I do admit I like shrimp pesto pizza. Or there's this one with prosciutto and artichoke hearts that I love. MMMMMM.

Which is not to say I don't enjoy some of the above (I like kettle corn, which is pretty sugary, and chip butties sound intriguing if horrid for you), but still.
Of course, we eat some weird crap in this country (mmm, mmm, pickled pigs' feet... would you like that spicy or mild?), so I'd be interested to hear what horrifies a Brit.
As to the matter of coleslaw on barbecue, when it's in the correct combination of type of coleslaw, type of 'cue and quality of roll, it's a really good combination. Serving large-chunk, wet, mayonnaise-based sweet coleslaw on St. Louis-style barbecue with a hamburger bun is a disaster waiting to happen.

Then again, I've never actually seen anyone eat one.

Coleslaw with a pizza? Sure; coleslaw on a pizza? Not so much.
Then again, I'm one for bacon, cheese and strawberry jam sandwiches, so what do I know about disgusting combinations? ;)

OK, I went and did some research, read: 30 sec with google looking for Domino's Pizza website. The link goes straight to their 'food' page (where coleslaw is served as a 'dip'). Domino's is the most well known/widespread (as far as I'm aware) pizza take away place, so I figure it's pretty representative. To see our pizza restaurant-ness, Pizza Hut is the best option. Again, it's the most popular/widespread sit-in pizza place. The only other 'pizza' restaurant I can think of is Di Maggios. However, Di Maggios is what I'd class a restaurant (where one would make reservations and is somewhere where one would Go Out To Dinner) whereas I'd say that while Pizza Hut is classier than, say, McDonalds, it's not quite at the level of Somewhere Nice For Dinner (ie Di Maggios), if that makes sense.
Thus endeth more than you even wanted to know about pizzas in the UK. *g*

I like coleslaw, and I don't normally like mayonaise products (or any condiment products, to be precise). And, yes, we would have it with pizza. Or KFC. Or chips. Not on, just with. Very much a side dish.
Normally, though, you get it with salad or barbeque foods.
Also, seeing a little hint of pizza topic squick in the comments, my favourite pizza is the Domino's full house pizza: Pepperoni, ham, ground beef, pineapple, sweetcorn, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, cheese...yum.
