N!F!S
I was reading
fandomsecrets today and realizing that much of it is about fandoms I've never even heard of, or bitching about other secrets.
Anyway, I was trying to think of "secrets" I have that are f!s-like, but I don't feel the need to make graphics and submit anonymously for.

- I tried watching Firefly twice and gave up both times. I failed to see the awesome.
Not!Secret Because: Blasphemy to much of my flist. - Tom Baker skeeves me the hell out, and probably related to that, I don't much care for Four.
Not!Secret Because: He's like a UK national treasure. - I'm amused when Dirk Benedict throws a tantrum, and love the snark about him.
Not!Secret Because: Why should I care about an actor whose last big role was in the 80s? - I don't find David Tennant, Chris Eccleston or Billie Piper outside of their Who roles all that interesting and/or hot.
Not!Secret Because: My flist will whack me with nerf bats. XD (Note: That's not to say that I could never again find them interesting with some new role in the future - it hasn't happened yet though.) - I bought a big-ass caramel apple at the store today and will devour it at home.
Not!Secret Because: IT'S A CARAMEL APPLE AND IT'S MINE.

XD We still love you anyway! *squishes*

Same here, I went right of Four when I saw him pat Sarah Jane on the head hen she was trying to tell him something. (though it made me really long to read a fic where Four meets Donna and trys to do the same thing!)

And I feel sorry for people whose f-lists are apparently so terrifying that just saying that you ship/don't ship/would hit some pairing/person/thing that is really not all that unusual to want ship/not ship/hit would get them, like, kicked out of ElJay or something (idk what these people are afraid of happening).
Also: I do not like Four either and I have always failed to grok the Four!adulation. Tom Baker is waaaay on the far side of "quirky" verging into "wtf dude get away from me" territory.
And: Have you seen The Second Coming. Eccleston is a hard man to follow the career of because he has a habit of appearing in atrocious movies, but I <3 that particular movie and totally get the Eccleslove, if only he'd do more movies like that.

I'm not sure either. It's...weird.

Exactly. And he has this bug-eyed surprised look that just annoys me to no end. (Sorry, the guy cannot act. He says lines and mugs for the camera.)

I haven't! Might have to check that one out!

The only thing I've ever liked BP as (besides Rose, of course) was Hero in the Much Ado About Nothing part of Shakespeare Retold. And really, that was just residual "THIS IS MADE OF PUPPIES AND SUNSHINE" feelings caused by Damian Lewis' utter and delightful d-baggery.
Also, CE's career choices since DW baffle me.

Yeah. I would have thought he'd go for leads in smaller indie films. Hmm.

And I adore Jon Pertwee in particular for his work outside of Who, but he and Tom Baker were both pretty much playing themselves or an exaggerated version thereof.
Kinda like John Barrowman playing Captain Jack (at least Who!Jack versus EmoManPainTorchwood!Jack).

And great comparison to JB. Although his camp never annoyed me. I guess it comes down to liking or not liking the actor in the first place.

I can't watch him because his hair reminds me of my ex-brother-in-law who I couldn't stand.

I didn't know he had until I read about it at F!S. XD

DT in Hamlet was fantastic. The only other things I've watched him in is TOTA and Blackpool which I watched with my friend when I visted England to see Hamlet. I've never seen BP or CE in anything else. Except I did see CE in an old episode of Poirot which was amusing because he had hair. XD

He's such a douche and so fun to mock. :D

I just can't get excited about Hamlet for some reason. But I'll have to keep my eyes open for that old Poirot ep. I've been planning on watching some Poirot since I've run out Marple.

I kind of rolled my eyes when he died, mainly because of Jack's "don't" line. :D I did sniffle when Gwen turned up to look at his body though.

Not!Secret because my flist will tear me to shreds for saying such a blasphemous thing? That being said, Firefly is my favourite of all his shows (I blame Nathan Fillion and Adam Baldwin. 'kay?)

I couldn't really give a rat's arse about those three outside of fandom either.
LOL! Skeevy!Tom will creep into your dreams and whisper inappropriate things in your ear...IN HIS BIG BOOMING VOICE!
Never even tried to watch Firefly even once.
Toffee apple ftw. So envious.

I was a Michael J. Fox girl. :D

*nods* Same here.
And caramel apples are yummy.
I miss getting them from Disneyland, which had the BEST EVER. But the one I got looks hand dipped, so I'm hopeful.

I have seen Billie Piper in her new show SDoaCG and I have to admit I like her in it. *dodges rotten apples thrown at her*
David Tennant is pretty good in Blackpool and I heard good stuff about him in Hamlet.

And I've heard they're pretty good in those roles, but I just don't have any interest in them.
I feel like you deserve an appropriate F!S response

I mean, I could maybe get past the first one (blasphemy!) given time.
The second is absolutely understandable.
I have no idea who Dirk Benedict is?
This... stretches things a little, but I'm willing to accept maybe you don't want to see these actors in other personalities. Goodness knows I've sat through many an awful movie just to get to the Eccles.
But you won't share your caramel apple!?! *unfriends*
I've had a few opinions I hesitated to share, but it was more in the line of completely over identifying with a character. Then I remembered "Oh yeah, this is a fandom journal!" Although earlier this week I did actually trash a post I was writing for fear of the reaction from my flist. Which was prob exaggerated out of proportion in my head.

He played Starbuck on the original BSG. And also place Face on the A-Team. Nowadays he plays the role of woman hater.

That might be part of it - I like people in certain roles, and seeing them in other things is sometimes weird. Also if they're good, I can get over that.
But you won't share your caramel apple!?! *unfriends*
Miiiiiiiiiine! (Although I haven't had it yet. I made myself do 2 miles on the treadmill first. XD)

And I never put that together - the girls as weapons thing - but it does seem to be a theme with him, doesn't it?
Well, you've inspired me.
So yeah, no defriending from me on that on!
I'm with you, I don't think I have any fandom opinions which I couldn't share with my flist. I suspect for a lot of people, it's everyone who isn't on the flist that is the concern. But for me, if riled up, I generally feel the need to lay unabashed claim to those unpopular opinions as well.
Re: Well, you've inspired me.
And sometimes I'll get a bee in my bonet to say something too, otherwise...

2. O.O But...but..He's painfully awesome!
3. I have no idea who that is.
4. I think David and Billie are always hot. You know what's weird? I'm not sexually attracted to the Doctor. I love him like Donna does. But I'm crazy hot for David Tennant the real person.
5. Those things hurt my teeth.

2. EEEK!
3. He was on the A-Team and the original BSG. A general creep.
4. HEH! Well, I don't think I'm really sexually attracted to the Doctor either. He's too much of a nutbag. :D
5. MMMMM.

*DEFRIENDS*
joking,of course.
I won't defriend you just cause you're crazy. and/or strangely inmune to whatever drug or mind control trick Joss puts in his works.
and really?¿ you don't like DT OR BP OR CE? That is surprising. what have you seen?

And it's not so much that I don't like them outside of DW, it's just that...I don't really care. :D
