What is up with the rising trend of people posting meta on AO3? I don't want to have to start wading through non-fic there! (Especially a meta on why Benedict Cumberbatch is hot. GOOD FREEKIN LAWD.)

I am unclear on how talking about Benedict Cumberbatch's level of attractiveness is meta. HAVE I BEEN WRITING MORE META THAN I REALIZED.

YOU COULD POST YOUR THOUGHTS ON AO3!

I'm imagining this "meta" is just Tumblr-style hyperbole and faux-rage like WHAT GAVE YOU THE RIGHT? NO, FUCK YOU. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. YOU'RE THE WORST. THIS IS ILLEGAL. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I HATE YOU SO MUCH. FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

XD XD XD XD XD

Yeah, I really hope AO3 doesn't become the next blog replacement.

I don't really see the use in posting meta there because meta to me invites discussion and I don't see how AO3 would be the place for it. I guess you could say the same about meta on Tumblr, btu I do kind of feel that way about meta on Tumblr anyway lol.

Yeah, neither are good for discussion, but AO3 especially.

Well...actually AO3 is probably a whole lot easier to hold discussions, but I still don't want it to become a forum.
