ETA: I'll probably give post-Rose eps a shot, but honestly the Doctor and Rose's complex relationship from the very first episode is what really interested me in this show and kept me with the show. Apart from that you're just looking at some cheesy monsters and plot holes.

Well in that case, the Doctor and Rose already have twins named Peter Jack and Jack Peter and Rose has regenerated into a Gallifrean. Sadly, the Doctor *still* can't seem to be able to say "I love you" to her but has worked his way up to a head-nod in her general direction after sex.
