But...*CRIES* A 27-episode ship is not long enough. :( Poor, poor Doctor is going to be heartbroken. :( Hell, I'm heartbroken.

ETA: I'll probably give post-Rose eps a shot, but honestly the Doctor and Rose's complex relationship from the very first episode is what really interested me in this show and kept me with the show. Apart from that you're just looking at some cheesy monsters and plot holes.

I think once S2 is done, I'd really like to start in on some of the older stuff. People have been telling me I'd really like Five.

I think so. I was trying to describe Ten to my dad on the phone last night, and brainiacfive piped up with "He's like a hyper Peter Davison." Which is true to some extent. A lot of it is just the youth factor. But I have Five in my head as "the huggy Doctor" even though the Beeb put some severe limits on physical contact between him and the female companions. The writers were quite good at finding plot-driven ways around that.
