This is the best sci-fi music vid I've ever seen! It has, like, EVERYTHING in it! It's been floating around on tumblr now, but here's the creator's LJ post about it:

http://bironic.livejournal.com/290689.html

and a lyrics/clips post:

http://bironic.livejournal.com/303285.html

It's been around for months, SO I BLAME YOU ALL IN NOT SEEING THIS SOONER.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Two things I like in the same place! :D At some Emmy-related thing last night, Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Maurice LaMarche were together! You might know the first two, but maybe not the third. He's the voice of Kif (and others) on Futurama as well Brain on Pinky & The Brain. (And about a billion other cartoons.)

Picture of geekiness. )

Those asses!

So apparently the Futurama cast has been dis-invited from the ComicCon panel. They aren't being barred completely, and will be around to sign autographs, but they can't be part of the panel.

2CFox SUCKS DONKEY BALLS! This is unbelievable! Sure I'm not going to ComicCon, but this whole salary negotiation thing is getting seriously ugly. And the ugly is all 2CFox.

I hope Phil (and any of the other cast that's there) just go to the panel. I could seriously see lap-sitting on stage. It's that sort of a group.

"Spare me your space age technobabble, Attila the Hun!"

HMPH!

Look, 20th Century Fox! Since you're obviously bringing back Futurama from a money standpoint, let me put it to you in a way you might understand.

You produce a product. For this product there are consumers. However, these are not guaranteed consumers. If you put out a shitty product (like replacing cast members to save a buck), you will find that your consumers for said product (and the ad revenue they bring) will have vanished. So:
  1. Either you are really that thick so as to think you could get away with this and still get the money in like you did with the DVDs, or

  2. You're trying a sleazy method of negotiating salaries.
In either case, FAIL. And because I wanted to use my kitty icon too:

"Sometimes I fear we are cute." "Oh, niggle-snoosh!"

After a small discussion with [livejournal.com profile] shinyopals on the adorableness of names of towns in the UK, I have a poll.

[Poll #1413910]

(Oh, and related to the subject line, NEW FUTURAMA IS COMING!!!)

  • I picked up Futurama's "Into the Wild Green Yonder" last night, which came out yesterday. This was pretty funny, unlike the "Beast With a Billion Backs" which was only just okay. There were many times I laughed out loud. Ken Keeler (with some help from David X. Cohen) wrote this one, and I like his writing. (He wrote episodes like "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings," "Time Keeps on Slippin'" and "Bender's Big Score.") Also, the DVD extras were amusing - a decent amount of stuff for $16, including one thing titled "DVD Extras No One Ever Watches." MWAH.

This is potentially the last Futurama episode/movie ever and the whole ending had me grinning. It's not as sniffly as the moment at the end of "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" (the last episode of the TV run), but it was still a great way to possibly end it forever. (Although from the commentary, TPTB would love to do more - it's just a matter of getting backing.)

Warning: if you're going around looking for info on this, the wiki page gives a very detailed plot summary so you will be spoiled.

  • Having a bad day? This otter pic will help.

  • ETA: BAH. Why are half my icons gone?

Bender's Big Score DVD Extra

How do you know when TPTB of a show out-nerd EVERY other PTB on the planet?

They include a math lecture as a DVD extra. And the writers and producers are *attending* the math lecture. And geek out during it because the lecture's about the math and physics references on the show.

I love Futurama.
