I've seen others post about it, but apparently people aren't listening.
If you don't like a show anymore, just WALK AWAY. Don't threaten to leave the fandom to see if your fangirls will beg you to stay. Don't threaten, period. Just. Go. And no long "this show damaged me and so now I'm going to stomp off in a huff (but really sneak back in a month or so under a different name)" manifestos either. You may think that people care about your show rage, but they don't. They really, really don't.
Say it with me now, "just walk away."
I'm not talking about being in love with every episode you see, because no one's that perky. Even me. Nitpicking the flaws of an ep after it has aired? Go for it! Discussing how a character didn't seem in character in the latest installment? Right on.
But if you've gotten to the point where the only thing you can do is rage whenever you think about a show, and any future episodes of a show that haven't even aired, JUST WALK AWAY. None of this "but I'm emotionally invested in the show, so I can't leave!" nonsense either. That will get no sympathy from me but instead a smack across the head and a demand to get some fresh air.
(Yeah, I know, every year it's the same damn thing between seasons. I'm just very bitchy this morning.)
