I think I'm already being driven insane by a fandom I'm just starting to waddle around in. Doctor Who, of course. Am currently obsessed and so I feel the constant need to read posts/communities. Gotta stop that apparently.
On the one hand you have some newbies being all flaily and spastic and all-around generally batshit.
And on the other hand you have some old schoolers who feel the constant need to instruct the newbies on how things must be done. Condescendingly, natch. (No, I'm not talking about canon guides/posts, 'cause those are like helpful. I'm just talking fandom.)
I'm seeing an old school vs. newbies spat on the horizon, much like the SG-1 Danielites vs. Shippers War of 2003. (Or was it 2002? Time flies.) And the ship vs. anti-ship (which is either a subset of this or this is a subset of it) lines have already been drawn.
At least I can hang out in my own little corner of LJ. Lalalalalala.
I said LALALALALALALA, DAMMIT.
