Instructional DVD?
Mar. 1st, 2012 03:46 pmI'm thinking about getting myself a SLR digital camera. Thing is, I'd like to actually know how to use it.
Can anyone recommend a "how to" DVD on the subject? The kind that assumes you're an idiot. "F-stop means THIS. Idiot." I would not be opposed to something taught by muppets. But something more on the technical aspects (e.g., settings and so on) as opposed to how to photograph the perfect leaf or something.
There are plenty of books on the subject but I seriously do not have the patience for a book. I'm a visual learner anyway. I did see a few DVDs, and I could get one at random, but I thought maybe someone would have some experience on the matter.
(I took a photography course in college with film and dark rooms and everything! Protip: Smelly chemicals smell. But it's been way too long and it was more about the art of photography rather than the technical aspect anyway. Although I remember the smell with perfect clarity.)
