Okay, I've gotta mention [livejournal.com profile] nandamai's new fic Pieces.

Jack is still confused and Daniel is still talking, which should mean that all is right with the world. Except that, apparently, all is not right with the world. Apparently, the world kind of no longer exists.

And so it begins.

You *know* you want to read it. *eyes 2/3rds of friends list* Okay, so it's Jack/Daniel. But would nanda!fic be anything less than believable? It's not a tale of roses and candy. It's a tale of two souls seeking comfort at the edge of existence.

It's that time again. The Stargate SG-1 Fan Awards nominations for 2004 are officially out, which had me thinking about last year. I'm not sure if I properly expressed my gratitude to the people who nominated my stories and me last year. I was new to the fandom and frankly the whole thing was pretty overwhelming. In some ways, it still is.

I am ever touched by the people who have nominated my stories both this year and last year. I am simply at a loss to say anything more eloquent than thank you.

In looking over the scores of titles nominated, it strikes me that it's so hard to put a "best" title to any one fic or author. So many times it's like comparing apples to oranges to...pyramids.

There are names and titles I recognize and have read. Others this is my first introduction to. But all stories have one thing in common - they share, if just a little piece, the heart and soul of the writer. The writer who may have agonized for days over a title or a sentence. The writer who attempted to release some of his/her own personal demons through the written word. The writer whose love of the show bubbled over so they couldn't help but to write about it.

Well, I think I've gotten schmoopy enough for one night. I'm not looking for any type of congratulations, so think I'll turn off the comments and just slink away.
