UGH. NBC talks about their shitty Olympics coverage.

See, I knew they'd point to ratings and say that they're doing everything right. Of course it completely ignores the fact that it's the only way you can get to watch the games. YouTube and the IOC all direct you to NBC's site. BUT you can only watch on NBC's site if you subscribe to paid cable. So guess what everyone has to do? Did you say watch broadcast NBC? OMG YOU'RE RIGHT. RATINGS.

This attitude right there is something we've put up with for years from Hollywood. Is it really any wonder I've got a natural hate for anything that's imported and "translated" for American audiences? Everything is processed and homogenized and Americanized and it makes me want to shred things into tiny bits.

I guess NBC is airing the Olympics again, which means the opening ceremony will be pretty unwatchable. Not only will it be a delayed broadcast so they can add 2 hours of ads, but I'm guessing it'll be hosted by Bob "I MUST TALK OVER EVERY SINGLE THING THAT'S HAPPENING" Costas. BECAUSE IF A PERSON WALKS ACROSS THE FIELD WITH A BALLOON, I MUST INFORM EVERYONE OF THIS FACT.

Why can't they just point some cameras at it all and be done with it? It's like...like sitting in a theater and having the person next to you telling you exactly what's happening even though you're watching it as well. D:
